Awesome, I have just bought the same pack myself so it was helpful to see you take it apart!

Excellent video and your explanation about safety working on batteries is very welcome as I have seen some people doing things that are very risky in my opinion 😀

Glad you liked it! Wanted to bring the point across that yes there are dangers but it's not a 2nd WW bomb ;)

good luck. nice project you have.

long time coming, looking forward to see this on the road! Nice little aluminium blocks, they look easy to handle. Interested to see how complicated the BMS integration will be with these.
@EngineersFear Жыл бұрын
I think the module units are hacked but of course they just provide voltages and temps. No charge limits, SoC, current and such. Will be an extra challenge!
@bildmateria Жыл бұрын
@@EngineersFear nice, I am still keen to write the code for that, would be nice to have an algorithm open source for the SOC and chargelim and dislim calculations

The two big outlets are for the DC FC port and other is for powertrain. So it make sense the second set of HV relays are for DCFC. I also believe that they only have a pyro as main pack fuse.
@EngineersFear Жыл бұрын
Oh, that makes sense! So then the 100A fuse is just for auxiliary stuff

Hallo Johannes, danke für das Video! Wie bist du an den Akku gekommen? Ich gehe davon aus, du hast ihn nicht für 10.000€ bei ebay gekauft? Hello Johannes, thanks for the video! How did you get the battery? I'm assuming you didn't buy it on eBay for €10,000?
@EngineersFear Жыл бұрын
I bought it from a Norwegian scrapyard and found it at bruktdel.no and yes it was much less than 10000€

Hi Johannes and thank you for this new video. I can't wait to see what happens next... A question may be ridiculous, when connecting the different packs in series, no risk of electric arc? Example of packs of 40 or 80v each can be connected in series, without risk? 55kw will certainly be a good upgrade, for autonomy, it's good!
@EngineersFear Жыл бұрын
In series the voltages just add up. Paralleling is probably what you mean. Connecting an 80V and a 40V battery in parallel would result in meltdown ;)
@luipir Жыл бұрын
no precharge relay inside the pack?
@EngineersFear Жыл бұрын
Yes forgot to mention that, couldn't find a resistor or relay. Maybe they do like Tesla and charge the caps by reversing the DC/DC converter from 12V to 400V?
@Ruudi05 Жыл бұрын
@@EngineersFearYes that's exactly right, they did it like that. No resistors and precharge relay needed there.

don't suppose you fancy selling your house and becoming my neighbour? You would be able to do my conversion with your eyes shut ;)
