LAB VLOG: another week in the life of a PhD student in chemistry | My PhD and Me

This week in the lab I am running another bioassay to test the effects of a previously used antifouling agent against the biofilm formation of my bacteria, I introduce you to the Erasmus student I am supervising, Axel, and I let you follow me around the lab whilst I carry out experiments!

@@drjessicagomezb I did my master's thesis in virtual screening to find biofilm formation inhibitors in Pseudomonas aeruginosa! Loads of Molecular Dynamics, Docking, Quantum simulations etc. I am too clumsy for the wet lab ahah thanks for asking!

Hi Oin, thank you!! The tri butyl tin was supposed to act as a positive control for my bioassay but my bacteria didn’t act as I expected them to 😅

And do not worry about experiments not going as expected because that’s the default and if they do act as expected that’s an anomaly.
