Visit the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. Walrus (@04:50), brown bear fishing for salmon (@07:35), and virtually the entire population of Pacific Black Brant (@12:42) thrive in this unique area. The Izembek Lagoon lies at the heart of the refuge. Here, shallow, brackish water covers one of the world's largest beds of eelgrass, creating a rich feeding and resting area for hundreds of thousands of migrating birds.

What a beautiful place! These areas aren't just visually stunning, but as you said they're hugely important to wildlife too. Hopefully, Izembek National Wildlife Refuge remains this way for years to come. 💛

I hope the US stop both illegal and legal mining activities in Alaska to protect this magical sanctuary for these beautiful creatures.

There are a lot of beautiful places in this world, but Alaska is very nearly unparalleled. Just glorious. The land, the plants, and the animals alike.

Such beautiful land with diverse wildlife. I enjoy the outdoors and and wildlife and find it sad to see how there's lots of woodlands, beaches, and wetlands that continue to be built upon.

beautiful place, great documentary. It's just a shame during wrap up at the end of the video, the words "conservation" and "protection" are illustrated with the picture of bird HUNTERS with their rifles (with their kids), such a contradictory and counter-productive message and bad legacy to pass down to the younger generation. As if we needed people shooting at birds out there, contributing to already dwindling wild animal population around the world. Conversation and protection is the OPPOSITE of HUNTING these animals for sport.
