Labor Can't Handle the Truth on Housing!

Labor’s housing nightmare continues.
Despite announcing 13,000 homes in September 2024, only one of 185 contracts has been signed.
Some of these homes won’t even be completed until 2029, exposing serious inefficiencies and delays in implementation.
This is in stark contrast to Labor’s promised 13,743 homes.
Housing Australia couldn’t provide clear answers on timelines, contract details, or progress.
Labor touted Big Super funds as key players, but their involvement remains unclear.
Instead of taking responsibility for these delays, Labor continues to deflect. It’s clear they are more interested in building bureaucracies-not houses

I wonder out of the 160,000 houses built mentioned, how many were actual houses for Australian? In my area there is a tonne of new construction going on but most of it is student accommodation towers for international students (e.g. Scape, Iglu, UniLodge). Perhaps Senator Bragg can ask the Housing minister if student accommodation is included in the housing figures.

The government doesn't need to build houses. Just fix the system so builders can build houses. Remove taxes and legislation for people that only own 1 house. Keep the taxes and fees only for the people that buy investment properties. Increase taxes for the rich that own multiple investment properties.

My family, including a daughter fighting cancer, have just been made homeless. The real estate agency and I had a dispute where I caught them lying, so they have given me a one sided, awful reference. I will never get a rental. Our mental health, including that of my daughter's teenage son who does the night shift, looking after his mother, is destroyed. I am 72. This is not how my old age should be. I have no where to turn. There are no houses. Organisations like Mission Australia do more harm than good. You are OK if you are a wealthy politician and can buy a $4.3 million house on the Central Coast. I have lost all faith in Labor. I volunteered to help get Albo in. He has been out of the country more than it it since his election.And his 'constructive talks' with a madman, a rapist, a racist, a perverted bully called trump was the last straw.
