We need to note that most of the people concocting the cartoons have arts degrees, they have no idea how energy operates or the world for that matter. They moved from the university into a party political situation and now they have no idea about what their portfolios are about.

There is no such thing as green hydrogen, there most likely never will be. Talk to someone who knows, any hydrogen uses vast amounts of electricity to produce the hydrogen and the hydrogen only has a very small amount of power out. So you would need many thousands of gigawatts to get less than one gigawatt of hydrogen power.
@evil175 ай бұрын
I believe it is roughly 1.5:1, ie; for every kilowatt of hydrogen energy it takes about 1.5 kilowatts to produce. Hydrogen is useful for certain industries like metal manufacturing & embrittlement but I don’t like the idea of hydrogen based transportation of any kind, imagine what might happen in a tunnel accident situation with many hydrogen vehicles coming to grief and one explodes setting off a huge hydrogen explosion in a city tunnel would be catastrophic.

Build natual gas plants instead. They spool up and down fast so they work good with renewable, and theor not mass opposed.
@evil175 ай бұрын
Gas is fine (or coal or nuclear), but renewables are destroying our Australian environment, they have to go, look at what Twiggy Forest is doing to the Great Dividing Range right now with wind farms, it is a disgrace, wiping out thousands of acres of protected areas & species for wind farms that have huge dumping sites up north for unrecycleable blades that regularly fail. There is a lot of problems with bushfire starting renewables for very expensive low density & unreliable energy that needs replacing regularly, and yes we do pay extra for all that.
