In the same budget that dishes out $50 billion in fossil fuel subsidies, $175 billion in tax handouts to property investors and $80 billion in tax cuts for the wealthy, Labor wants to cut $14.4 billion from the NDIS.
Max Chandler-Mather speaks in Parliament about Labor's changes to the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Yeah tbh in general now I think about it I haven’t seen much that hasn’t been disappointing in that way. Worse still does that give the coalition permission to try differentiate themselves by stepping further out the other way.

@@dmanpc1379 calling it early here that I feel a risk Dutton might be that strange type of smarter than all the evidence indicates type person. I probs would have put money on it being incomprehensible he would ever get anywhere in that role a few years ago, why did ppl stop referencing the potato look, let’s get back to true Australian culture: mocking politicians and telling them to get off our lawn. Cause maybe he long term planned, reducing funding to anything that taught anyone critical thinking skills and then took some pages out of the “say meaningless unsupported things to create chaos and division” handbook. If labor have lost it so much that he has a chance might have to get Taylor Swift involved because if she can save the US from Trump she can twitter message or whatevs to shift a Dutton prime minister back into the crazy place in my brain

I am sorry the NDIS has to stop. I sit each day having a coffee and 50% of the people are NDIS carers/clients. Unsustainable.

12 years Victoria Grant has made an idiot out of all Australian politicians. When she spoke about the cause of poverty and the criminal banking scam. She also spoke of the solution to poverty. If only politicians cared.

Only sensible party to call out BS AND have a plan to fix it. One party does deals behind closed doors, the other points at things but offers no solutions to the problems they present. Greens are the only ones with foresight, and a thought out plan of action right down to funding. I was hesitant on the greens before, but they have totally won me over.

The Greens sound good because they never have to make decisions that have real consequences. They have this Robin Hood view that we can have everything if we take from the rich. What happens when there are no more rich people the Greens won't say.

Look you sound like a true fan and might be recruiting so I’ll lay low but the reality is that what you say is objectively a fact and the truth. I think I’m concerned about the fact they are called the greens, I have no idea what a carbon credit is, I don’t want to see ppl debate environmental issues because I love facts and data and science I just like to leave it to the experts because I’m not a scientist I don’t actually understand how climate change works but credible scientists who are very respected academics and are not PWC consultants here to get a pay day, whatever they say is good on that, keep everyone else out of it. Maybe if there was a legal issue to understand specifically, I could probably work my way up from that to understand climate change science but I just don’t think I need to. So how is it that almost all the greens policy is actually inline with my values (almost) but something feels weird about the fact I recently got in trouble with my housemate because apparently mandarin peel isn’t allowed in the compost bin maybe I should have learned that in the last 30 years, but you know, now I know, soI’m there but I’m not that actively green I guess

I kinda want a royal commission into what happened to labor but I’m still waiting for some bankers to be fired so as maybe one of the few who was excited in a disgusted type way to read the full Haynes report. I’m not sure why we still use “royal commission” like it’s a weapon, heard someone try that threat with robodebt developments and thought okay yeah definitely the answer to extra confirm it was cruel and illegal and some ppl should be accountable

@als5790 Hey! I appreciate you leaving comments! I'm not a true fan, I too am just someone to values truth and logic in our political system. I am a firm believer that the portfolio a politician has should be one that they are well educated and versed in, in the science and statistics of it. Not just a career politician in the corporate pockets. Government should be for the people by the people, not by the crooked for the profit of corporations. Socialism should be for the people, not socialism for the rich and ruthless capitalism for the workers. As you can probably tell, I did once consider my self an advocate of reformist communism (meaning organic socialism updated for the times). I've left that school of thought but still seek value and truth in my politicians. The Greens have surprised me, they have come a long way and genuinely care about the population. They don't just shake a stick and tisk at policies, they have an educated, researched solution to the problems! And that's incredibly refreshing. I'll be voting Green for the first time ever this next election. I hope you do the same, but respect if you don't 🙏

@@ALaughingMan The Greens use the same rhetoric as Hugo Chavez and a legion of other Marxists have used over the past 100 years. They never live up to it. In power it is oppression, censorship, a reduction in freedoms and an increase in poverty. Their ideology has no scope for alternative points of view which is why they always evolve into dictatorships and brutal ones at that. The only winners in a Marxist state are the ruling elite. That is much smaller group than the 10% the Greens say hold all the power now. Ironically, that 10% includes them. The are rich and politically influential. But they want more.

Unfortunately the tone of this speech is so reliant on the ' tragedies ' of disabled life , articulated by the reader with no direct experience of disability waving a ' not good enough !!! ' virtue signal rather than doing a decent job of clinically dissecting the backstepoing by the gvt revealed in the issues that he started out identifying. NDIS is in peril and all the fatcats in parliament care as much as they did about robodebt victims.

It's meant for both. If you are intellectually disabled that can impact you physically and make you unable to effectively care for yourself. This is what the NDIS is meant to help people with, and it just doesn't.
We're fighting for the NDIS
