Pffft remember in the 80s / 90s when many manufacturers closed because it was “cheaper to make things overseas!” No canneries, many boot makers gone, most dress makers/ clothing manufacturers- gone overseas, Car makers reduced! Etc etc A blind person could see this is a Loss of skills, loss of jobs…this is all unbelievable…what a waste of money! It was same era when technical schools closed as I recall,no wonder we have few skills to succeed in much manufacturing in this country.

The job of government is not to build industry; it’s to remove the punitive conditions that act as a brake on investment and entrepreneurship. Our manufacturing industries fled Australia with the help and encouragement of government. Our current Quarry / service economy is not working.
