It really is possible, seen an old video of a dude putting a shotgun under his chin to end it, but instead got his face flopped over and he survived it. Seen also in combat footage a dude looking like Kruger, after he ate a brick to his face when a tank hit the wall he was hiding behind, that dude also lived for a disturbingly long time ...

This was the part that took me out of the movie. Why did the film decide Kruger needed to be brought back, especially after half his head was removed by a grenade?

ya their boss be dead from shrapnel in his skull and brain love how fake these movies are with their magic we can repair a totally blown off face of a dude who took a grenade point blank 🤣🤣 but a great movie overall 💪💪
