They are places to teach facts and the universe, society, community, specific subjects that enhance the knowledge of young people, and grant them important skills vital to navigate life and prepare for their futures, and all that should be done OBJECTIVELY, IMPARTIALLY, and without bias or political intervention. It really isn’t “woke” in a lot of schools but I fear it will happen and it will be my time to leave the profession. There are lots of us who are conservative thinking and perhaps it will just be a phase.
