I just love these dogs! Chief has always been my fav. But I laughed so hard especially at Nike. He kept going for the bowls & the actual whole fruit. Let me start by saying I liked watching your dog try new fruits. One FYI for people wanting to give their dogs citrus though. While citrus isn't toxic to dogs, the sugars and acid can cause stomach upset and bloating. Also, some dogs have skin issues when exposed to too much Vitamin C. I have a cairn terrier who likes citrus but it doesn't like him. He gets terrible skin itchiness from it. We mentioned it to his vet thinking it might be a food alergy. But she let us know that some dogs, not all, don't process citrus well. Her recomendation was if it bothers them don't give it to them. If it doesn't seem to bother them you should still limit how much your dog eats.

When we took our first lab puppy to her first vet visit, the vet told us that every lab owner should have pet insurance because it will pay for itself the first time the lab eats something they shouldn't, and labs will eat ANYTHING. The vet was right and we have used that pet insurance with every lab we have owned. The last event was when our lab counter-surfed and devoured a brand new, full 2 pound container of butter. She was smart (?) enough to stealthily grab the butter container, then sneak into the downstairs guest bathroom and devour it. We couldn't figure out why she suddenly started barfing until we searched the house and found the empty butter container. Gotta love them!

I have a Tangerine tree at home but before i know It, the birds have eaten half of them and i had a Black lab who would bite the tangerines, rip them off the tree, Peel them and eat them! When I lived in Florida we had a grapefruit tree in the yard. Our Lab used to love to play fetch with the fallen ones and would bring it to me after to peel for her to eat.
