Hi, I'm a pen maker using a wood and metal lathe. I always research on the woods that I use. I now have you to add to my research list as I just subscribed. Also I have seen this bush/tree but never knew what it was so thank you for educating me.

This is a very good way to introduce tree species. I only wish you'd have said whether the laburnum is native to Britain.
@LeaveCurious2 жыл бұрын
Nope, its not native :) thank you!
@BigJFindAWay2 жыл бұрын
@@LeaveCurious It is native to Europe though in which case it can't be that much of a pest surely.

I have one of these in my new yard..I didn't realize it was poisonous and planted berries and cucumber under it. Chat GPT told me the poison from falling flowers or seeds could poison my berries..is this true? I ended up replanting the berries elsehwere.

what about dogs, do you think they will eat the pods? if I have dogs should I not get this or will they stay away from it?

of course the pesky mice are probably NOT affected? or maybe mix it with mouse bait?

It is such a beautiful tree, it's a shame folk are probably put off growing it in their gardens because of it's poisonous nature.

yes, although it is often found in gardens, you have to think twice around young children!

Sir, thanks for the information but it's not a poisonous tree, that what I got information about the tree had a more medical properties & uses in making Ayurvedic medicine.
@LeaveCurious3 жыл бұрын
Hey no worries! Well, yes and no really... from what I've found its used in medicine to cause vomiting or diarrhoea which could treat something like constipation. But please be aware that it is in fact poisonous and if ingested it will cause you harm.

As you said we won't find a nest on the tree. There is actually a poem by Ted Hughes called THE LABURNUM TOP in which he talks about a Goldfinch and her nest on the top of this tree Anyhow thanks for this video
