This game was so thoroughly frustrating that I never managed to finish it. Coming here now and watching you walk those corridors again... Damn, man, I just had a flashback! At least now I can kinda say that I vicariously finished the game...

One of the greatest openings to a game ever. The way it starts out as a text-based adventure game (which were hugely popular at the time), the meta moments of watching the film the game is based on, the people talking about the film in the game, etc. Then the film starts and Jareth talks directly to YOU, hence the character creation. It then becomes a graphic-adventure game and thus begins a whole new sub-genre. Brilliant.

I had this for my C64 and it was lots off fun to play. I haven't seen it in years, thank you for posting your playthrough!

I used to spend hours watching my brother play this game in the 90s. So good

The Firey wanted a "Rock video" and he gave it some rocks on tape... Clever

Around 1996/97, I paid $200 (yes, too much back then) for a C64 with two disc drives and a tape drive (and monitor), and about 30 discs (5.25" of course) and half a dozen tapes. I played this game countless times and learned BASIC on that Commodore. Sadly, it ended up in a landfill. Oh, how I wish I still had that setup. They were great fun and probably worth a few dollars today.

This was a pos game! I came on because my older brothers never beat it and was a hard game to understand as a kid. Paying $200 is unbelievable for this 80s game
@Raz.C4 ай бұрын
@@robd1329 So you missed the part where he listed the many pieces of hardware, as well as all the other software that he got for $200- only to focus solely on the game? Crazy stuff, dude! Reminds me of that skit that Bill Maher did "What Bernie said vs what republicans hear." If you google that, click on the result that shows the "Real Time with Bill Maher" sketch. The other results aren't comedy videos.

Great! I play many of the old games nowadays because I too didn't manage to finish them as a kid. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade video is currently rendering. Greetings back from Germany ;)

@@matthias3175 Danke, danke.

@ludophilia5 жыл бұрын
@matthias31755 жыл бұрын
