LACE COOKIES
2 sticks of butter (room temp)
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups quick oats
1 cup finely chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 375.
Mix butter and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs, baking powder, vanilla oats and nuts. Mix well. Drop by teaspoon (and NO larger) onto parchment paper.
Bake for 6 minutes. You will have several batches so just wipe butter off of parchment paper and reuse. Also when you are done wipe off parchment, fold up, put in zip lock bag and store in freezer until you make cookies again.

I have been looking for this recipe for years. My mother made these for us when I was a child. She would curl them around a wooden spoon when they were still warm. O so good. Thank you for the recipe. This is a very old recipe.

Yummy yummy Leslie ! My mama used to make these when I was a little girl. She was famous for making these and the no-bake cookies for our Church Bizarre and Potluck dinners. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. God bless

Absolutely great recipe! I’ll give you a tip for storing them. Put one or two of the little silica packets that come in a lot of medicines, shoes purses etc on the bottom of your container. Then put a crumpled piece of wax paper down and place your cookies on that. The silica absorbs the moisture and keeps them crisp.

Hello~ Your cookies look beautiful and delicious!. :-) I'm so glad I found someone else who likes to bake these as much as I do. They're known as Victorian Lace cookies and they are my favorite! I really like the delicateness of the cookie and the great toffee taste. I crush pecans in mine as my husband really likes them. They're make a pretty dessert when you place a couple of cookies (cross ways) on top of vanilla ice-cream. I have made dozens of these cookies for a few years now. I give them as Christmas gifts and take them to our church Christmas party every year. As they're perfect for an after dinner dessert when you want something sweet but light after a big meal. May I offer a tip, so you don't have to wait on eggs to reach room temp. To speed up the process: I place the eggs in a very warm almost hot bowl of water from my sink faucet and they're room temp in a couple of minutes. Again, it was great to see someone else like these easy to make beautiful, delicious cookies as much as I do. Be blessed and Have a Merry Christmas~

Awesome!! Thank you so much. I will have to try doing my eggs like that the next time I forget to lay them out. Which I do quite often Aren't these the best cookies? That are so good and pretty easy to make. It's about that time of year for me to start making them again. Thank you for the tip about the eggs and thank you for watching. Have a great day!

The Farming Pastor's Wife so sweet of you to reply~ Yes, these cookies are great! So easy to make with minimal ingredients. Who ever heard of baking cookies with no flour?? :-D I do understand about remembering to lay out eggs or cream cheese in advance... It's a GREAT idea... in theory! ;-) So, that's why it's good to have a back up plan. You're most welcome from one Southerner lady to another. Yes, it's time to start baking them again. I think I going to see about dipping the edges in chocolate this go around, they will look pretty and be my favorite! ;-)

If they running into each other, just press in between them with a spatula while they're still hot on the pan. It makes it way easier than waiting until they're cool. That goes for any cookie.
