I just found this song, her performance. I only knew her as Flyleaf. Never like this. So tender, so raw, super emotional! It is an incredible performance. I used to be a Christian. Until I felt that I want to be in charge of my life. I felt I owned my victories as I did the failures. Not God. Me. And now, after all these years I find myself lost in Christian music, movies, you name it. It is like home to me. A comfortable place, because it is so wholesome. But I gotta say if there is one thing I take away from being a former Christian it's you don't need God to save you. It was always you. You can save yourself. You don't need him/her this holy being. Cut the middle man. You are enough. In your imperfect perfection. You are worthy of self-love. xx

I listened to this song live and it was the first one to make me cry like a little girl. I didn't even know it was about god at the time, but just the emotion in her voice brought me to tears. I wish I could believe in God. It would make life so much easier, less painful and comfortable. I honestly envy religious people. But life is tough... it is what it is.

Trust me, life doesn't get easier when you're a Christian. And As a Christian, I am not religious in any way. I have a relationship with Jesus, not a religion. Life actually gets harder when you become a Christian. Harder in human eyes. All of a sudden you have to be careful with what you're doing to try to be more like Jesus, but all of life is pressuring you to give it up. But in another aspect, it becomes easier. Because when trials come, you know that He's always with you. You don't have to worry because God is in control. It does bring peace. Unexplainable peace. But trials also come. Jesus says that we must take up our cross and follow him. Think about that. Take up an instrument of torture and follow him. Seems crazy, right? But that's the kind of love we need for Him. I hope this all makes sense. Becoming a Christian was the best thing I ever did. And I hope you'll make that decision too. Let me know if you have ANY questions. If I don't know the answer, I'll ask someone who does.

Bolun Ye It's ok! I doubt sometimes and I am a Christian! You don't have to be perfect to come to God. The cool thing is we can come to Him in complete brokenness, just as we are. Think about it like this, you wouldn't get clean then take a shower. You don't come to God whole and complete, you come empty so He can turn your life around daily. Hope this helped!! I would encourage you to not put lacey as an idol, rather looke to her has she is leading you to worship the one and only true God. where ever you go in life be encouraged that as people we should not put anyone higher than God and by saying she is you idol, you are making her to be in the place of God. She is human and is going to make mistakes. rather look to her life and see how she has pointed others to Jesus Christ and God than to herself. I would say to look to her as a role model of how to live and to lead others to a peace and a God that can completely change lives and does more than we could imagine that we could do for ourselves
