Standalone is sheet? Mod good both in terms of optimization and the fact that it does not contain many unnecessary details. So much time has passed and they still haven’t been able to do anything normal with this pile of money.

Make sure you launch both arma 2 and combined operations once before playing the arma 2 dayz mod. Hopefully this helps :D

Thats how is how arma 2 dayz mod was.. I kill at 600mts with akm. Not was hack,the weapon gameplay is the best in arma 2 because is a military simulation.

I agree, original Dayz gameplay is still unsurpassed today. Dayz Standalone is okish to play but they have changed it into a survival crafting game when Dayz originally was a PVP interaction game. Survival and crafting was secondary. Its not edgy Dayz anymore, its more like a mediocre levelling up loot simulator with easy pointy shooty gunplay.

@@Yagdrol It's always been a survival game, they just added more to it in standalone than "just surviving" and there's more tiers to the loot than just "gun spawn in military bases" it's actually dependant on how far from spawns you are now so you don't have new survivors w as50's and people up north with nothing worth looting bc they already have the best shit before getting there. As someone that's made mods for both versions, standalone is far superior on a mechanical level because that's what it was made for.

Vanilla Flashback (EU) server, has an active owner and active players. It usually has about 3-9 people on during the daytime. Occasionally there is 10+ players on the server.

@@JeDoubleUTube There was a hack that instantly crashed a server and it was a problem with the game not the servers so there was nothing that server owners could do, i remember there was a span of like 2 weeks where the server would crash straight after coming back up and it happened to like the last like 10~ populated servers and after it stopped they average like 10players, was sad.

I've been working on an Arma 3 DayZ for 9 years, Arma 2 DayZ Overpochins (DayZ Overwatch, DayZ Epoch, DayZ Origins) was my goal for feel but went me own way eventually. Standalone just never felt right to me and tried too hard to be a survival game with zombies which it devolved into a cluttered, clunky, soulless zombie game. Been seeing more of Arma 2 gameplay recently and the way Arma 2 engine handled skys and distant terrain makes me sad Arma 3 doesn't do the same still, seems reforge took a note out of Arma 2 in terms of distant terrain which is nice.

They ruined this. Had the best time with it over 10 years ago, but they simply ruined it. And it felt like they did it ob purpose. Standalone has always sucked compared to the arma2 mod, and it still sucks to this day.
