in essence such a simple mod, but so beautifully executed. I had a blast playing ArmA2 Wasteland back in the day, and recently installed reforger just for this mod. I dont enjoy many video games anymore, but this mod brings a smile to my face. Thanks for taking the time to create this gem for us to enjoy and spending the time to port it over to reforger.

I remember years ago stumbling on a Wasteland server on ARMA2 and at the time it was the only server. There was no independent faction, only blufor (which was mostly US and UK players) and opfor (which was mostly Russians). Honestly the most fun I've had in ARMA, the teamwork and coordination was crazy. We'd have scouts out looking for enemy bases and areas and then we'd lay siege to them for hours. Nowadays most Wasteland servers seem to be just a bunch of independent players playing it like any other team damage or survival game, but I'll give this one a try it looks fun.

Yeah, the Arma 2 Wasteland times hit really different, and it wasn't just nostaliga, I was watching back some of my old series, and there were just so many cool servers with cool team setups going on. This also has mostly indies who really contribute nothing to the overall Red vs Blue base stuff that I like about Wasteland, but I get why they choose to be indie ofc.

@@Psi I think the Indie problem has been exacerbated by the prevalence of private comms and friend groups. Back in the day we'd have a teamspeak server and that's it. And very few people on wasteland had TS for small friendgroups. Only the Man-bird people seemed to play like that back on the old Stalk and Strike. So most people went into gamechat, and the best place for gamechat was on the Blufor and Opfor teams. So it led to better team-based gameplay. Nowadays you just get 2 or 3 man indie squads in a discord and a silent Opfor/Blufor chat. Its fucking sad and I miss the old days.

From someone who made the original RPG maps CnR, Crime City, Nogville, SahraniVille - I can tell you that these modes wont be coming to Reforger, its purely designed for milsim on console. Theyre using it as a test bed for ArmA4 Enfusioon, the AI's drastically better but in terms of actual mission editing you cant do that amount of scripting or trigger / waypoints / custom addons. They can barely handle the load of addons their getting and thats nothing compared to what we were used too. Me and my team agreed just to abadon work on ReforgerLife existing, which is ssad but I get why and appreciate it for it is, definitely appreciate the old maps. Like Everon, Kolgujev is coming back, Desert Island is in there, and maybe Malden. 10000% Nogova will be back, best campaign, story and n map made. There's also a few game-modes we couldnt make with reforgers idiotic console focused editorr with game-master and not Eden, so we took ideas from as far back as 2002 and have them being developed into a single game. Twitch/KZbinrs will love it we think, no one else has done it so we thought may as well capitalise on forgotten gems hahah.

It has 91/100 on one server and 80/100 on another RIGHT NOW, if you want to track a server's popularity/peak times, use Battlemetrics. The server was pretty full most of the day.

Uhhh both? Reforger has a built in downloader, so the mods aren't annoying like they are in A3, since you need no restart, no manual turning on of mods, just click join and it will do all the hard work for you.
