This was a great video to help my unboxing and setup of a LaCie 2big Dock Thunderbolt 3 RAID storage drive, thank you! I will share some of my experience as someone who is not very computer savvy in case others find their way to this page and are in the same boat. 1. If the blue light on the front of the device is not illuminating, and the computer is not reading the drive- be sure you are using a Thunderbolt 3 cable. Using other cables will not allow the device to connect appropriately, and this was a quick and easy fix by swapping out the cable. 2. Use ChatGPT for the setup process, unfortunately my lack of computer knowledge placed me at a disadvantage for understanding how to respond to some of the prompts. ChatGPT explained step by step how to navigate some of the issues I encountered, and also helped me decide if I wanted a RAID 1 or RAID 0 configuration based on my needs - it worked like a champ!

Thank you for this very helpful video. do you just let your LACIE go to "sleep" with your mac, or do you switch it OFF ( and how). im worried it will over heat if i dont switch it off overnight.

Minbae Kim The fans do make noise but it’s very moderate and not too noticeable.

Why did you buy a basically NAS system if you're not gonna use it in RAID?

First off, this is not a NAS. Second, I intended on having 2 separate partitions thus a RAID setup is not a necessity.

@@PaulMarriott can't you connect it to network? I mean why didn't you buy 2 separate HDDs if you're not gonna use the RAID? Why bother with the enclosure?
