Awesome video! I re-lace all the corsets to the inverted bunny ears, but was constantly fighting with one side getting longer. The trick about putting a slip knot in the middle will be a real time-saver! Thank you! And love the trick with marking the waist with the colored tape.

I'm really liking all these videos about the lacing. It's cool to think there are so many ways to do it to get cool-looking laces, especially for the more fancy corsets you'd want to show off outside your clothes.

This is my favorite lacing method, when I first tried this on my first corset if felt a lot better, it feels so much better than the method when you have a gap between the bunny-ears!

I've had my corset for a few months now and have seen this video over 4 times. I just now decided to change up my lacing and I can't remember why I didn't do this sooner. It's so much easier and actually makes my corset more comfortable. Thank you Lucy for the tip!

Thank you so much for posting this video. I have a couple of corsets that tend to gap at the waist because the grommets aren't as close together as I would have liked, and this lacing method makes all the difference. Gotta remember, though: unlike with regular bunny ears, pulling the top laces will tighten the bottom, and pulling the bottom laces will tighten the top :-)
@emirror12 жыл бұрын
I had mine in regular bunny ears, and was disappointed with how loose it would be at the loops. I was already laced in for the day, but got out, relaced my strings this way, and got back in. This is fantastic! It's so much easier to get it tightened and tied off! Thanks so much! PS - I love your hair! I'm growing mine out to tailbone, and yours is inspiring. :)

Yessss! Thank you! This just changed the game for me. Ive had a size 20 (usually a 22 in off the rack corsets) corset that was made for me, and I couldn't ever close it and it always felt a little off. Now that I've replaced it, it closes more smoothly and without strain, and my corset feels soooo incredible on my back now. Triple win!

Thanks for your advice on this one. I put my first corset on with it laced the way it came and it seemed fine for me for now. I can certainly see how it would be beneficial when aiming for a greater reduction and I'll likely be giving it a try once my corset feels fully seasoned and I start increasing my reduction.

Thank you SO much for this tutorial! I cannot thank you enough! I've been wondering if there was a way to remedy that little "bulge" of extra material there at the laces, and keep the laces tight while tying off in a bow!

Hi Lucy! I was struggling with my whole corseting experience because I would have constant lower back pinching.. and I wasn't all too comfortable (so I'd loosen up the laces but for waist training I'd have to tighten them at some point!). So I took your advice and relaced it from bidirectional to inverted bunny ears. I also made the waist lower (because that's where the tape is!) And OMG OMG the pinching is gone and I feel so so comfortable now! I can breathe just fine and go for longer hours with the corset on. Thanks so so much for this extremely helpful video, Lucy!

Oh thank you for this video Lucy! I've tried to figure out how to lace my corsets evenly to avoid the dreaded gaping at the back for ages. I would never have figured this out on my own. Do you use this type of lacing technique with all your corsets? Specifically the much shorter ones like the Baby & Leatherotics waspie?

Would you suggest relacing one's first corset before putting it on?
@MadmanPanda11 жыл бұрын
Hi Lucy! Wonderful video, but I have a question. I have a corset that I purchased online, and well, maybe it's a characteristic of a cheap corset, but the waist tape doesn't seemed to be lined up with two grommets. There is one grommet, sort of lined up in the middle of the waist tape and the the grommets on either side are about an inch from the middle grommet. This makes it difficult to get the same reduction at the wait. I would think. How would you recommend lacing it? Thanks.

OK, encouraged by how easy you make all this look I have started trying to tighten my laces myself (I was just tossing it in my purse as I headed out. You would be surprised how helpful strangers will be with this. Moving on....). I am having the exact problem I thought I would, namely HOW do you get the modesty panel not to crunch up? Also, I cant get it tight enough! Help!
@mitchellbuckley79895 жыл бұрын
You are the best video, Bunny ear method is better than lacing all the way down, as with the bunny ears,when you put the corset on, you can pull on the Bunny ears , and tighten the corset yourself, without some one do it for you.

question: i want to start making my own corset and i would like to know what i need and where to get it cheap?
@athomewithkarmen10 жыл бұрын
Hi Lucy! I went to do this lacing style on the CS-411 from OC and ran into a snag. Due to the number of grommets up the back (10) I can't see to make the under-over action work well when I get to the midpoint of the corset back. You end in an "over" cross as opposed to an "under" cross at the bunny ear grommets. Is it safe for the corset to modify the crossing at this point or should I opt for another lacing method?
@LucysCorsetry10 жыл бұрын
It's fine to modify the lacing to whatever works for you. It also doesn't harm the corset to have the knot of the laces "over" as opposed to "under". The most important part is that the pull loops (bunny ears) are sitting at the height of your natural waistline, not too high up or too low.
@athomewithkarmen10 жыл бұрын
Wow! That was once fast response! I can't thank you enough for your wisdom. Glad to hear you are in the mend (just watched your most recent video.) I'm excited for your channel's new year plans. And, as a note, I like your videos because they are more lengthy AND more indepth. You are amazing!

@billysmith54095 жыл бұрын
When using this technique do you start from the top or bottom of the corset?
@LucysCorsetry5 жыл бұрын
Always the top. That way you will tie off the ends of the laces at the bottom of the corset (by your hips).

Is it possible to do this with 8 grommets on each side? For some reason I'm really confused
@LucysCorsetry8 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's possible to do this with any length corset and pretty much any number of grommets. The most important thing to remember is that the bunny ears need to be at the waistline of the corset. Beyond that, it doesn't matter.
@1recordernut6 жыл бұрын
Wow! Watching this, I realized the RTW corsets I have were incorrectly laced!The bunny ears were ABOVE the waist tape! I used this to relace both corsets, and am looking forward to trying them out, now that everything is corrected.

Since it's an even amount of grommets wouldn't you start from the top and bring the laces from behind to make an X
@LucysCorsetry7 жыл бұрын
Hi Alejandra, the number of grommets should always be even (there should always be the same number of grommets on one side compared to the other side). When it comes to lacing your corset, the pull-loops ("bunny ears") should always be at your waistline / lined up with the waist tape. Many OTR brands actually lace their corsets with the bunny ears too high, so I prefer to relace my corsets for maximum comfort and efficiency. Sometimes this will not always align properly with the number of grommets above and below the waist, so you might not always start with an X. Even if you don't start with an "X" in your laces, this does not harm the corset.
@alejandrarosales78367 жыл бұрын

Would be helpful, if at the very beginning, you point to the TOP of the corset, and point to the BOTTOM of the corset.
@LucysCorsetry5 жыл бұрын
99.9% of corsets have the laces tied into a loop, with the knot of the two ends at the bottom of the corset. Therefore I always lace my corsets from top to bottom, so the bottom is closest to me when it's on the floor. If you look at your own corset, you should be able to see which end is the bottom.
