Lack of Progress Report. 1964 BSA B40 SS90

I connected the air cleaner and strapped down the battery, but it leaks like a sieve. I'll replace the oil lines and a number of external gaskets, then see how it is. After that will come a rewire and a new Amal monobloc carb. I don't think the speedo works either.

You find some interesting bikes to occupy your time. Over here in the US it seems everything has to be big and heavy. I have had my 88 inch Pan engined FX since 1998 and my modified XLCR since 2016. Before that there were a couple of big Kawasaki (900 and 1000) fast bikes, but I had as much or more fun with bikes like the 1972 Honda CB450 double overhead cam that I made into a cafe racer, light and quick. Norton and Triumph were always on my wish list but couldn't find enough money at the time. That looks like a fun bike once you work the problems out, enjoy.

You do encounter big bike fans in Britain as well, but the vast majority of motorcycles here are relatively small. My XLH1000 is the biggest/heaviest I've ever ridden.
