HI again - liked this one too. Over my head a bit about watches. Any reason to get this instead of FC Slimline?

Guess you're doing research on watches? If you're really after a dress watch, I'd stick with FC Slimline (see my comments for the FC video). On the other hand, this Laco may pass for a dress watch - you can change the strap it came with for something thinner and it just might work. Note that the Augsburg wears bigger/thicker. However, it is one of the less expensive automatic watches out there. It is a well-built German watch. Mine has a display case back and came with a Miyota movement. Good value.

@@randkjournal OK thanks. Not up to changing watch straps on my own. I'll leave it to the hubby. :-)

Into watches now too, eh?😂 I've not heard of Laco. Anything special about this watch?

Hey there. Honestly, I was looking into field or pilot watches and had my sights on the Hamilton Murph. I came across the Laco Augsburg. I hadn't considered German pilot watches 'til then. The basic Laco pilot watches were at a decent price point and as well, it had a sapphire display case back, an automatic movement, and a 39mm case diameter.

@randkjournal Hamilton yeah from that movie. Like the look but seems plain. Thanks for sharing. I guess you're gonna do more watch stuff? Haha

Flieger watches tend to be plain but there's some elegance in the simplicity. Watch stuff - we'll see...

Why the Augsburg? Laco better than Stowa? Thank you.

Why not? 😁Honestly, it was by chance as it was readily available. Just wanted a German watch to add to collection. The ironic thing is this has a Japanese movement (Miyota). This keeps the costs down. I think Stowa uses Swiss movement (ETA?) but may have modernized the design. Laco used Miyota movement but the watch design is more in line with original.
