This is so so so important. We have to stop harming horses in this way. It looks like this horse is having painful muscle spasms. Depending on her current treatment, she might require additional anti-inflammatories to help manage her pain.

I have owned horses here in BC Canada. I have never liked any competitions. I do not like the win or lose concept. I like having a nice day. I always rode without a saddle and let the other horse run free in the forest as we rode. I would take turns riding one and then the other. I was always alone in the woods with 2 horses and 2 wolves. There was no one to "show off" to. We just enjoyed riding, sometimes for 8-10 hours, exploring, resting, grazing and sometimes looking at the sky. Wolves are also misunderstood and so many mistakes are made and then the animal is blamed. There is freedom without saddles and ropes, especially in the woods where almost all problems were from tangled ropes or saddles getting stuck. The horses can get out of most problems if they are free. I absolutely love and respect your work. You are a treasure. Love to all horses and animals in the world.

I would like to add that my neighbor is a horse vet and can not ride or handle her own horses. They only do dressage over there in a round pen and now the horses are so upset they can not be trusted. Also they are overcrowded and not living in humane conditions. This is a veterinarian I speak of. They won't let me go over now because they know what I think of them.

There is nothing about putting a metal bar or other device in the mouth of a horse that signals kind treatment. It seems more of a resignation of efforts to control the animal. Thank you for teaching the power of communication and cooperation between horse and person.

As a senior it is years since riding a horse. When you ditched the pelham bit, used a snaffle. This is the point of my post, every riding facility I know of is focused on the rider's achievement, the rider believing they have control, the rider feeling successful, the horse is treated like a piece of equipment. Some riders want the horse to like them, bringing them treats, then immediately yank the bridle around seeing how the "steering" goes or use the tight reins to try and balance themselves. Once, at a second riding lesson, asking the children to approach the horse and how to identify and use brushes was later told by the stable master a parent called and informed him, "My son is not a stable hand."

Right where the cordero is over the mane, her neck almost looks like it has a kink in it. Hoping she can heal and get over the damage she has suffered.

spread this video all throughout the equestrian world....please. There are trainers who will scoff and be insulted by this. TOO BAD FOR THEM!!! THEY need to learn to be COMPASSIONATE trainers, if they're going to be called "trainers" at all!!!!

When I see those huge double bit assemblies on prize winning dressge horses I always wince and wonder why? Why do they do this to these beautiful skilled willing horses. It makes no sense. It looks ugly, painful and unnecessary. Unnecessary. Horses are started without bits because it is easier, better. There is really no reason to use them ever.

I just started dressage lessons after riding hunt seat and western. Since I heard about bitless, I have been really interested in riding that way. I ride in a 3 piece, french link snaffle and try to have as quite hands as possible. I live in the US, will you be coming out to the East Coast while you are here in the States? Thanks.

Mia, you had such good forethought thinking about the horse being X-rayed. I always like watching Show Jumping & Dressage, but I would never have known the damage the bit does to the horse. You are so passionate in all you do with the horses you train. Jesse Drent @jessedrent in the Netherlands sells bitless bridles & neck ropes @nalanta Keep up your fantastic work, you do, you, kind-hearted & passionate Lady ❤️🐎
