I love how they used Mozart's Lacrimosa Requiem in their song. It perfect mix between classical and modern music.

I agree, this is an amazing song, very well done. Mixing today's music with classical makes the song almost poetic. A lot of classical music is actually really powerful. I have a lot of respect for composers like Mozart, and musicians today that appreciate their work.

I'm a huge fan of Mozart's Mass, but this is just an adjunct of someone's expression. I personally love it. I'm a Elgar and Mozart fan and I play the French horn and am well into the classical music world, but evolution and creative freedom is the same thing Mozart had back then and he had some terrible critics that didn't recognize his talent until he died. He was buried in a pauper's grave. Passion! Embrace it.

This is amazing, I love how they have taken a beautiful song, and kept it, but made it have a haunting more atmospheric feel, if anyone else in the world did something like this it could not work, they do not have the operatic quality Amy does to her voice, and man they could never compose something so beautiful... Mozart would genuinely say good job... and he would be right.

It is definitely a great performance. I thought of the band KiTTiE--how Morgan Lander's voice got stronger as she started touring. As with any artist, touring usually helps strengthen the voice. Thanks again for recommending it to me :) And thank you for giving recommendations instead of blasting me; I truly appreciate it.

i love this song its is one of the best evanescence songs!! and thats not cos it has got mozart's theme in it!! I think that by changing this piecec they have not diminished it at all but have merely taken it to a different level!! still love it

I love this song. I'm writing a vampire series (an actual gothic horror one which takes place in WW2, none of that Twilight shit) and I've had trouble writing the sequel because it's supposed to be even darker, more thrilling, more emotionally consuming. I just realized that I need to drag out my old Evanescence albums because this stuff really puts me there. I love them and I can't wait for a third album.

Classical music isn't something that people can adapt or upgrade, its something that is a statue of its own posture. Out of all the music in the world, classical music is meant to be felt, seen and heard. Its music that no matter how many years it has progressed, its going to be the same. You cannot recreate what took skill, dedication and time to just some modern music. Its meant to be left alone. Its meant to dazzle in its own beginning structure. Played how it first began.

"The Requiem" itself are a composition made mainly for the Dead, for memorial. "Lacrymosa" or "Lacrimosa" is arguably the most popular movement of the Mozart's Requiem. Noone can love this piece, or song, more than me! You can't! ^^ I have just one word for this song, and it's: "MAGIC". Don't you all agree? THIS IS MAGIC. Hey, I'm only 15, but I love goth metal and classical music. Hah, what a mix? :D

Part II Even in acting and poetry where the text is always the same for a certain poem or play, the reader may understand it in a different way because he/she's a different person and 2 different actors may play the same character in 2 different ways and maybe not even in the exact way the play writer thought of it. It's the same about this song. They took the original, added their message/emotions and turned it into a rock song. They did a really good job.

I have to say, this has to be by far their most epic song. It seems to hold a plot. I could actually imagine reading a book about the lyrics they seem to be able to have so many different meanings! I know Mozart did the original composition, but Evanescence have done an amazing rendition on an amazing classic. They've changed it into a mixture between a heavy metal and classical song - amazing.

Who says it has to be defended? As a composer myself, the duty we have as musical innovators is to affect society as a whole by getting them to listen and be inspired. Obviously those who adopt his style or have their own renditions have been affected by his music, and that's exactly what anyone who creates anything for others wants. To affect and inspire others.

Part I I think this song is really good. It was not meant to be an exact copy of the original in a rock version, but the original was just the starting point. When something that is meant to express emotions is performed by someone else in a different way, it expresses more of the emotions of the one who performs it than of the one who wrote it.

amy lee is a genius in her own right and truth be told, she has turned mozart's ambiguous deathwish into a desperate hunger with her version of lacrymosa i'm proud to be her fan and if they were living in the same era, i'm sure mozart would have taken her under his wing by now
@moneyhunny350711 жыл бұрын
Dear haters of Lacrymosa: Some of this song is dedicated to her sister, Bonnie, who died in 1987 at the age of 3. Amy was 6 at the time and found out when she was at school. This song is very close to her heart so please don't hate; understand. Show some sympathy for this amazing woman who even took the time out to write a song like this. Most of the haters probably haven't even gone through what Amy's gone through. Don't judge before you know the story.

His music was written with skill, dedication, passion and immobile depth that is unbreakable. This is just a remake with some beats that was placed in her perspective, its nothing but some nonsense that is going to live for only a few months. Never even heard of it. Ask everyone in this entire globe who Mozart is, and you will undoubtly get a response with understanding. He is ubiquitously well known even to the unknown regions of the planet. A murder to one of Mozart's pinnacle music creation.

Amy Lee (the singer of Evanescence for some of you who don't know) decided to cover lacrimosa because she is a huge fan of classical music. and for some of you who say they ruined it or why they even covered this piece uhh lets see, she played classical piano for 9 yrs... she is also is inspired by mozart and she is also a huge choir fan. thats why she incorporates all that into her songs
