Lacto-Fermented Red Onions 🫙🧅
🙌🏻 Ingredients:
1 medium red onion
1 cup water
1 - 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
*Tools: 16 oz Mason Jar, Pickle Packer, Pickle Pebble, Pickle Pipe, Tough Band*Optional: any spices/herbs that you like!
🙌🏻 Instructions.
Thinly slice your onion. Place it in the Mason jar by packing it in with Pickle Packer.
Mix water and salt until dissolved.
Pour over your onion.
Place Pickle Pebble on top (make sure everything is below the brine).
Cover with Pickle Pipe and screw on the Tough Band.
Ferment for about 7 days in a dark spot such as your kitchen cupboard.
Transfer to the fridge after the fermentation process (remove the Pickle Pebble, Pickle Pipe and Tough Band) with an airtight lid on such as Tough Band.
