Lactose intolerance is a digestive disorder characterized by the body's inability to fully digest lactose, a sugar found in milk and dairy products. Most people on earth are lactose intolerant. However, certain populations of people aren't. They have a trait called lactase persistence which allows them to digest dairy without pain and discomfort. Evolution can help explain why we have this variation.
