I tend to not use GPS and instead look at the map before leaving to a destination by memorising the paths I need to take. I'm from Finland and we have orienteering as a part of the school P.E. curriculum throughout the education system. We also do plenty of contests in it. It's great, highly recommended fun and fairly relaxed sport.

That's awesome! Scandinavian education systems seem to be really innovative and ahead of the US in a lot of ways, from what I understand.

Thank you so much for introducing me to this! I've never enjoyed predefined route running that much. On hikes I would bring a compass and map, but would only seldomly use it because of convenience of GPS on the phone. THIS sport seems to scratch that perfect itch to finally make use of traditional navigation techniques. Thanks again!

Glad you enjoyed! Hope you give it a try and get back to us with what you thought of it.

Informative, unbiased, and not out for attention. Well done. Though my german grandma grew up on a dairy farm, I can't drink dairy milk without horrible stomach pain. 😅 My daughter seems not to mind, though she doesn't drink straight (cows) milk anyway.

Mankind has been disrupted. We show the kind of dysfunction we only really see by our direct interference with other species, so what threw us out of whack?
@Evolve.2Ай бұрын
Not sure if this is what "threw us out of whack", but I think sometimes we are too innovative for our own good. We tend to explore novelty in ways that benefit us in certain ways but put us in danger in others. This was likely adaptive in ancestral environments. It's now compounding at unpredictable rates in the globalized world, making it very tough to manage.
@mitchellalexander1581Ай бұрын
@@Evolve.2 that makes a lot of sense, in a crazy way, since we are adaptive to crazy levels. We're like overthinking personified. Like we're the BMWs of species. We are engineering and specializing our environment and the way we experience it to confounding degrees, to the point of making our own lives and dwellings alien to ourselves. Humanity has become an inception of itself. Art was at one point the thing that made us uniquely human and now we have postmodern ironic intentional non-art. Now we have Ai make non-art for us... We are beyond mutants
@Evolve.2Ай бұрын
You make a lot of good points! Art was definitely a defining feature of our species and still is, but who knows for how long. AI and tech have some serious implications for what "defines" us@@mitchellalexander1581
@mitchellalexander1581Ай бұрын
Definitely. I think that humanity's evolution will have to continue to be more and more of a philosophical and moral journey, rather than adapting our environment which we've already mastered into boredom.

Could one take CBD or CBN products and still maximize sleep?
@Evolve.23 ай бұрын
My understanding is that CBD can be beneficial for helping the onset of sleep, but that it can reduce the quality of that sleep (I believe it shortens the duration of REM sleep bouts).
