Decriminalize MDMA, for the greater good
@bosseshang84795 жыл бұрын
Isn’t mdma far more dangerous than alcohol? Seeing as it completely depletes you of your serotonin and if done a lot, can fuck your brain chemistry badly, which will what happen if mdma becomes a legal high
@sednabold8595 жыл бұрын
@@bosseshang8479 Thing is that already happens when its illegal. If someone wants to cook their brain they could do it legally or illegally with alcohol or MD. At least if its legal they stand a chance of getting help and supply can be monitored. Furthermore, decriminalizing will allow a better study of the chemistry and it may be possible to counteract some of the side effects and minimize damage. Now MD has negative effects but the extent, duration and required dose to achieve lasting impairment is less clear, also the extent of these effects while not ideal are not debilitating with a slightly lower score than average on some memory tasks after recent or prolonged use. Now most of the fatalities associated with MD are related to them being laced and or allergic reactions, very rarely overdose. I say this because while there may be effects from MD its worth legalizing it to save lives as these things shouldn't happen in a regulated setting. Finally it is not for the state to dictate what you can do with your own body, similar to abortion rights. Part of freedom is the ability to ruin or end your own life if, how and when you choose. It is not the states' job to coddle, for 'Big Brother' to keep you completely safe from yourself by restricting your freedom. Sorry for the 'freedum' rant.
@JAYGO3055 жыл бұрын
CIC320 terrible idea. Ecstasy is an extremely harmful drug, which has killed so many people. I always here on the news and from people around me about people dying from it. It literally chemically dissolves your brain. There are 4 people who I know who took only 1 tablet of ecstasy and nearly died. I’m sorry but legalising it will make it worse, because it’ll make people who would’ve never tried it try it because it’s now legal, and the people who did it before would carry on doing it illegally because that’s what they’re used to. I always hear people say about government regulation. Why should the government have to spend money and time regulating ecstasy just so people can get high? Plus, ecstasy is ecstasy- even with regulation it will cause harm because it will still have the chemicals in to cause it. There might be too many people doing it now, but legalising it would increase that number tremendously, with no good outcome. Finally, a lot of people use Switzerland to back up theirs point. The uk, USA, and most other countries are completely different from a place like Switzerland. I’ve seen what drugs can do to people, and legalising it would just make everything worse.

I’d not heard about Shaun until today via his TED talk.. his time in prison sounds like a living hell, and he had his fair share of luck. The second chance he has, must be a god send to him.. I wish him all the best.

the amount of videos and podcasts ive seen on shaun atwood is unreal his story is almost perfect to the word everytime, hes deffo telling some truth but not as much as he claims. He just tells you what you want to hear, no one goes deep enough with the questions just takes his word for it... essentially very well media trained guy.
@otterno.11283 жыл бұрын
I agree, the more and more I've watched of him the more I'm suspicious - I'm almost certain he's at very least just doing all of this for the money and at most a sociopath who lies to portray himself and others how he wants. The way he explains things is well rehearsed and clearly just quoting from his book, he doesn't actually seem to have any remorse or feelings about anything, it's all just a grift lol.

of course, its what kept him in the public eye. Story telling is powerful.

His story is credible. He definitely served five and a half years and committee the crimes he pleaded guilty too. If anything, he probably puts a gloss on his story and leaves out the murkier, mire violent tales. He probably didn't commit violent acts himself, but probably got others to carry them out The Phoenix New Times article (still online) about him dates from 2002 and backs up his story
@lewiss626 Жыл бұрын
I honestly believed he deserved longer in prison. He sold drugs that probably ruined thousands of lives and was associated with the mafia who murders innocent civilians and police officers it's disgusting and an absolute insult to the family.

Shaun got caught when he least expected it - over a year after he quit distributing drugs. This goes to show that the dangerous and illegal lifestyle will eventually catch up to you. It doesnt matter if it's a day, week, month, year, 10 years.. eventually you will get caught

So tell me, what did society win by sending this guy to jail?
@czechraiser4 жыл бұрын
Wrong. I know guys in LA who have millions smuggling marijuana in the 70s and 80s who retired and have lived in luxury since retiring decades. The rule is you hear only of the ones who got caught.

street price for a disco biscuit or white elephant back in '93 was about £15 a piece, the price dropped over time with the arrival of doves and mitsubishis but so did the quality. I believe that's all changed now, but the $3 he paid at the time sounds about right.
