I'm doing the Apollo 11 sweater and the pattern is super vague (3 paragraphs and a picture!) so I I'll be using this technique, even though it's not written 😅
@starcrossedknits4 сағат бұрын
@@valeriaswanne wow that is bare bones haha. i’d probably do intarsia for that one since there’s just a few big areas of different colors, assuming it’s knit flat (idk what the back looks like though)
@valeriaswanne2 сағат бұрын
@starcrossedknits It is knit flat, and the back is blank. Intarsia DOES seem to be the better option!

What a cute sweater and bag. Love your designs and I love the video! I really want to try these patterns out! They look really interesting and fun! Did you line your bag?
@starcrossedknits5 ай бұрын
thanks so much! i did line my bag, i just used some spare cotton fabric and whip-stitched it to the inner top hem of the bag

Great tutorial! What's the point of changing the color of the LBJ ladder if you can still knit the next stitches in the same color?
@patrickmcfarlane42792 ай бұрын
Or maybe a better question would be how do you choose which color to make the jacquard stitches? Particularly in a pattern with a lot of color changes, where one isn't necessarily the main color
@starcrossedknits2 ай бұрын
@@patrickmcfarlane4279 you’ll want to add a ladder where there’s a large span of the same color in a row, especially if there are multiple rows of it. otherwise if there are only short gaps, you can just catch your floats the regular way and they likely won’t show through too badly. if you go from a large span of color A, then the next row it’s a large span of color B, then the next is large span of color A again, you can switch the ladder color because it’ll always be helpful to keep it in that place and it’s not much effort since you’re not having to constantly start new ladders and resolve old ones. i hope that makes sense??

When using this method, does it use extra yarn?
@starcrossedknits3 ай бұрын
hmm probably a little more? I haven't done the same project both styles to compare the yarn amounts, you could do a swatch and compare, that would be interesting to know!

Is there a pattern for the bag? Also I love the way you pronounce your name. My cousin is the only other person I know who says it that way. ❤
@starcrossedknits6 ай бұрын
i haven't released it yet but i want to sometime later this month or in july, i just got sidetracked with getting out some other patterns first! and aw i love that your cousin says it this way too, it seems like the less common pronunciation! i was named after my grandmother ♥

The best LBJ tutorial I found yet!! I love your tarot card designs. Are the patterns gender neutral? Also, are the bust sizes in your chart the finished size? Thanks
@starcrossedknits5 ай бұрын
Aw I'm so glad! Yep the bust sizes in the chart are the finished size. The sweater doesn't have any bust shaping for instance, but I haven't designed mens' sweaters before so I'm not 100% sure on what qualifies something as gender neutral or not.. I would check against the sizing chart, and if you want to adjust I'm happy to help advise (eg for broader shoulders, larger biceps, longer arms, whatever)!
