ladle furnace (secondary metallurgy) 3d animation

Liquid steel tapped from basic oxygen furnace is then treated in ladle furnace i.e. secondary refining of steel. Here steel chemistry and temperature are adjusted and homogenised and dissolved gasses and inclusions are also controlled. Why is this process important? Can't we add the Ferro alloys in the Basic oxygen funace?

Ferroalloys are also added during tapping from bof see bof process link from description. Additions from bof are kept minimum due to their low recovery and balance additions at LRF done to save costly ferroalloys. There are also other factors.
