Electric arc furnaces work by remelting scrap. To produce steel from iron ore, you need a blast furnace, or newer technologies in direct reduction.

Iron ore pellets are usually used in a B.O.F. [ Basic Oxygen Furnace ] .

You have to make sure the metal is good and wet when you dump it into the furnace. The water makes the thing work better.... swear ta god!
