My wife and I are going to Rome for the first time in April 2020 for 9 days. It will be our 33rd anniversary. We have watched every video you have done about Rome and things related to Italy. Larry Robbins that makes me so happy to hear! Food wise I tend to prefer eating at trattorias, they aren’t as fancy, but the food is great. I love da Enzo, but if you want something a little more fancy there is Taverna Trilussa, Roscioli (restaurant), or very fancy is Antico Arco... I hope this helps! I booked a Transatlantic from Rome to New York. So I’m trying to study on all things Rome and Italy/Spain. Your vlogs have been extremely helpful and the food porn is so wonderful. Question about the coffee places? So you order then find a table or you eat/right there? Thank You!

This makes me so happy to hear! And what a great question! Typically you order your coffee (and pastry), and eat/drink at the bar, then pay for it. OR you’d order, pay, then grab your drink and drink at the bar. Usually in Italy if you want to sit with your coffee or pastry, you are charged extra to sit, which is why most Italians stand and sip. Extra could mean a small difference, or triple the price of a coffee. Now that we are living in a pandemic, the rules may change and grab and go coffee is becoming much more popular. I hope this helps! ☺️💗

My pleasure!! The weather is usually lovely.. but… we went once in May and it ended up raining quite a bit, but that is usually rare. Many people love May weather in Italy as it isn’t too hot! You’ll LOVE Italy Julie!

Rome is definitely my favourite city in Italy. Have you tried Pizzarium Bonci pizza? It’s located just above Vatican City. It’s a little bit of a walk but definitely worth it!

Next time you go to Rome try velavevodetto classic Roman restaurant in Testaccio you also got pizzeria da Remo that’s my favourite pizzeria in the world. Da enzo is also one of my fave restaurants. On Netflix you got the serie Suburra it’s al taken Place in the City of Rome and Ostia you will love it as romanista. Keep up the goodwork and your amazing Rome video’s can’t get enough of it.

Anna Anderson hi! There are two ways to book.. one is calling at least 1 month before, and reserving a table for dinner which is at 7:30pm I believe. You have to call during restaurant hours or no one will answer. The next option, or if they are booked, is to show up an hour before dinner at 6:30 or even 7pm.. A staff member will take your name and you will either wait in line to be seated, or they will advise you to walk around for an hour and then return. We’ve done it both ways, and it’s definitely nice to have the 7:30 reservation, that way you can be seated immediately. ☺️

Are you talking about the pizza al taglio? That was at Roscioli, and it is meat free! You can have a lot of meat free dishes.. Rome is also known for their cacio e pepe pasta, which is meat free, and delicious (cheese and pepper). You can also just get a simple pomodoro (tomato) pasta, or even aglio e olio (garlic and olive oil). Just specify that you don’t eat meat and most restaurants are very accommodating!
