The female singer is Hillary Scott, the daughter of Linda Davis. Linda had a solo career, but also sang with Reba McIntire and their duet song "Does He Love You" won them a Grammy. I first heard the song at a Reba show at Caesars Palace-Lake Tahoe about 1993 or so, and they were great together live. Hillary is certainly having a great career.

You are right that mainstream radio country is like that, but that isn't real country. Listen to some classics, listen to some stuff recommended by actual country fans, and broaden your horizons. I can't promise you'll like it, I myself only like maybe 10% or less of country music. There are some absolute bangers though, and people who havent listened to Hank Williams Jr, Johnny Cash, and a few others are really missing out.

Our upstairs neighbor's granddaughter used to come home from school and play this song at level 10 every single day. Needless to say... Like Daz, I was hooked after hearing it again and again. It actually got me back into listening to country music after stepping away from the genre completely for many years. They changed their name to just 'Lady A'. The bands original name of antebellum was dropped since it has a connection to pre-civil war themes, so the band dropped it out of respect for black people. Of course at the time they didn't know there was already a 61 year old black singer with multiple albums, with the same name. It's the whole cancel culture thing in America, everyone is trying to change the names or remove anything having to do with the civil war and the treatment of blacks, especially after the unrest that swept through the country last year.
