I had an 84 Lincoln mark VII and something was always broken on it. It broke weekly, slept in it while on the way back from New York when it stopped running going down hill in Connecticut. Several times engine lost oil pressure on the Mass Pike. I kept driving and made it back to Tyngsboro. Engine had to be replaced after that trip. $9000 dollars in repair in one year. Transmission line blew on 295 near Worcester. Power steering line blew on 95 near New Haven . Fuel pump went when I stopped for food on 84 in Danbury.Loved that car.

@@FayeHadley My 88 scirocco "16v" actually has a obd1 aba in it too and now I'm glad it does cause it runs awesome and is quick. Way cheaper and more reliable than the 1.8 16v cis and it's only 10hp different haha. The previous owner put a brand new TT exhaust on it. My vw b4 this was a flat black 95 gti vr6! It was bored to a 2.9 and had a 272 TT cam I think and had high.comp JE pistons and I made a full catless exhaust Haha and it sounded awesome. I frickin love my scirocco now and it's not as fast as my vr6 but it's more fun and nimble definitely. I want to keep it forever 😍

I really enjoyed your video and story about your car. I can totally relate to it. I have an 83 GTI that my Dad bought new and became my first car. Long story short, I still have it and always will. After 230k miles, I took it off the road for three years in the late 90's and also ABA swapped it (along with many other mods/refurbishments). I'll admit it is a bit of a garage queen these days, but when it sees some action, I drive the wheels off it like I always have.

Wow, thank you!! Haha if only you knew though! I hide her blemishes well. In reality, my driver's side door is falling off, 3/5 wheels are bent, she's due for her timing belt, and has an epic leak when it rains... BUTTTTTT I STILL LOVE HER TO DEATH!!!!!

I think your just a little cooler when I saw your right hand index finger ring was an open/closed wrench (5/32?) , I haven't seen that since the 80's. Purple looks good on U and you give me a bit of hope with the Girls/Women working on Car's today. Your Cute , Funny , and your a Star if you didn't know it! I don't let many people drive my car but would make an exception for you since I see you can drive a manual shift trans. It would be old school car meets today's Women Mechanic. Spread the Pixie Dust

women are known to be better at many things such as working on cars. they catch on faster and notice more details vs men with the same level of experience. men have way too much ego once they get their experience down vs women with the same level. i would definitely hire one vs a man once i find a local one with the same passion to their work as i do.
