Back in 2013 she broke her hip and couldn perform for a while and ehen that happened she realised most of the people around her was just around her for money, then her manager left her the day before her album ARTPOP came out. This video represents that story. She was shot down and people around her only cared about the money, then she got healed with her friends,created the perfect guy from the DNAs of the Icons she revived and lured money hungry men with her money gun to switch them with her perfect guys

Lisa was the one who had a connection and helped her to have an access at hearst castle and filmed there and gaga allowed them to have a cameo here since she's also the director/producer of this since her label cut off any budget already

With this album her record label wouldn't let her release the lead single she wanted because all they were interested in was making as much money as possible. They decided Applause was the most radio friendly song so forced her to make it the lead single. This music video is about how corporations can tear down your art in the name of profits. This is represented by the fallen angel. So Gaga takes the blood of men who embody love and art to create clones that can infiltrate the corporations. She fires money into the air to distract them with their own greed and Artpop takes over. The song itself is about realising you have power even if you're not 'on the top'. Let me be the Girl Under You than makes you cry.
