@@clambloom4539 Saying something and believing it doesn't mean it's true, especially these days. There's more to that beautiful soul than meets the eye. A lot of people made negative comments about her, but I truly saw something I really love about her and I can't wait to see her performance in Joker 2. She's a total artist, a talented musician and a very good actress, but there's a lot more than Gaga.

@@veroniqueverstichelen7371 I understand her need to create the persona after her childhood trauma. She took the name after Queen's Radio Gaga, but I wonder if she knew what they meant by Gaga. It comes from the french word caca which means poop. That's probably why Joaquin prefers to call her Stephanie and not Lady Gaga.

So strange to hear her referred to as Stephanie. I wonder if she is called Stephanie only by her acting colleagues or is she called that by everybody (ie., colleagues from her singing career)?

Why is it strange? Lady Gaga is a singer and she wants to be taken seriously as an actress. Stefani is different than Gaga

To me "Joker: Folie a deux" is brilliant for how it takes Arthur Fleck's story as told in "Joker" to its logical conclusion. It also is a visceral, at times surreal, anti-escapist trip into Arthur's psyche as well as into Gotham City's heart of darkness before any supervillains or superheroes are even around. And it is all of that done with cinematic panache and in grand style. Was this sequel really "needed"? Right after watching "Joker", I adamantly would have answered that question with a capitalized "NO!". But then, adding the character of Lee Quinzel, with an interesting inversion of the power structure we are used to seeing between Harley Quinn and The Joker, also adding a deeper exploration of Arthur's desperate need for love and for being seen and accepted, and yet again putting more of a focus on how Gotham's tense societal atmosphere comes close to a boiling point, also putting more of a focus on stylistic choices that led me further down the rabbit hole of Arthur's delusion, of his desperate coping mechanisms, his misreadings of people's ulterior motivations and intentions even if barely hidden behind a threadbare facade, "Folie a deux" made me empathize even more with its protagonist than "Joker" had done. "Joker: Folie a deux" not only took a deep dive into Arthur's deranged mind, it furthermore did it from the inside looking out, almost throughout the movie's entire runtime. It allowed me to truly understand how Arthur Fleck ticks. While also depicting the careless cruelty and collective madness of Gotham's inhabitants - or if you want to look at it from a more metaphysical point of view: depicting a haunting spiritus loci poisoning the inhabitants' minds - the atmosphere of this movie, between magic realism and surrealism, took me on a trip just as fantastic and fascinating as the comic book "Arkham Asylum: A Serious Place on Serious Earth". That's way more than I had hoped for from an allegedly "unwarranted" sequel. Even with little screen given to Lee Quinzel, her scenes were enough to explain and support Arthur Fleck's character arc, and Lady Gaga portrayed Quinzel with such emotional depth and with such manipulative cunning that it makes me wish for yet another sequel, one mainly dealing with this character's future development- at least if such a portrayal is psychologically as consistent with "Folie a deux" as Arthur Fleck's portrayal in "Folie a deux" is with what "Joker" established before. "Joker: Folie a deux" is a movie about what psychological projection, co-dependency, an atmosphere of violence and an addiction to spectacle, narcissistic egocentrism and narcissistic violation can do to not only a person - but also to society at large. At heart, "Joker: Follie a Deux" is a movie about solipsism as the breeding ground of evil.

What she meant is that, even tho it has elements from musicals, it's not the same since it's only the 2 protagonists who communicate and express what they feel or go through music, as opposed to a musical, in which every character is involved in the numbers, choreography, and basically the whole plot of the film is embedded in the music, and I don't think this is the case for this movie, since the music will be used as support only for the 2 main characters.

He meant it as a compliment as its extremely hard to embody a role where you a have to look a certain way (Example, Juaquin in the first Joker where he lost 50 pounds of weight for his role) and especially where Gaga has to be fit in general as a singer for concerts and stuff its a big difference... Also Juaquin is a genuine sweetheart I dont think he would ever mean it as an insult, I think he was just proud of her becoming more of a method actress for the role of Harley Quinn.
