Hi 👋🏼 Just here as a friend to gently remind that, while some personally don’t care for cosmetic surgery/augmentation, fillers, tattoos, even makeup; try to remember that it’s not for other people. In some cases, maybe that plays a part, one could point to “beauty standards” and culture of shame. But a large part of me feels like: Gaga does Gaga because Gaga…you know? She’s created herself. She is a spokesperson for acceptance. Think of it this way (and hey: I had someone explain it to me like this, and now I understand things in a different way myself!): say you’re a bare-faced no-makeup person, maybe a little lip balm- and the person waiting in line ahead of you in the airport is fullll beat: got the lashes, winged eyeliner to Neptune, lips you can see your reflection in, glitter, salon nails, the whole bit. You might think to yourself “woahh my god that is way too much, yikes.” And that person in front of you might think to themselves “woahh my god that person is BOR-ING, yikes.” It’s just perspective. Natural beauty is inherent, style and expression are choices 😊 …as are kindness, acceptance, and open-mindedness 💜 Idk, that example 👆🏼 really helped me shift my inner voice (inner critic…let’s be honest!) Not here to say anyone’s wrong, just thought to share something I learned. Fairly recently, in fact. Maybe it could help somebody else. 🤟🏼
