The book term for is velvet finish. It is often called soft touch finish and there’s several ways to achieve both through coating and lamination.

Joelle Jones' art on Cullen Bunn's Helheim from Oni Press is absolutely spectacular. That book is what made me a huge fan of hers. Her geometry and line work is always so dynamic.

I've really enjoyed her Batwoman run but never read Lady Killer but I've it in my shopping cart and guess what after you review it pressed the purchase button and can't wait to read it. Gonna probably squeeze it in between my read of the Wicked and Divine Deluxe Editions.

0:25 actually DH's library editions are usually pretty consistent. Every LE I own by them is the same size. Hellboy is one of the only odd ones out. Even big damn sin city is the same size as the LE's.

It really is a very entertaining read! Jennifer Blood meets great Darwyn Cooke like artwork was my first thought. But the character work goes a little deeper here. And it feels more bizarre to see the loving wife and mother tending her other business. The artwork always wants to tell you about the perfect family world, but it is just like a 60s commercial gone horribly wrong :D love it! Time for a reread - thank you for reminding me Omar!

Definitely Joelle Jones team up with an amazing concept of his character with Lady Killer as the name for it. I did enjoy the idea of this home household mom that turns out that she's like this assassin even though I've seen this idea before but it's really played a lot. This one started to get me into the previous works that she is done was I think was hellim ( if I spelled that right I probably didn't my bad )with Cullen Bunn. So this was my first introduction to our work and I really say she has a very great talent and I read a little bit of her Catwoman is pretty good I mean I fell off from the book but it's pretty alright

I don't track all the software techniques used to make comics these days, but I'm really put off by the sterile backgrounds in this that look like some sort of architectural program with the drawn figures then plugged into the environment. There are also numerous blank backgrounds that vary only by whatever color they filled them in with. The figure drawing looks pretty good, so I wished they had made some effort to make the overall look more...organic.

Lady Killer has an interesting premise after recently completing Kill or Be Killed by Ed Brubaker this is on my wishlist. Just started Postal Complete collection which is great so far. If you can Omar please check it out and let me know if it's up your alley

Art is tremendous. Story kinda lame. Yes, it's an easy read. Read the entire thing in 1 seating, but not because it's awesome. It's just easy. I had to suspend my disbelief a number of times just to get through it. And, lastly, the thing ended in a cliffhanger, with no indication that the story will continue (it's been 2 years since it ended, not even a hint of volume 3).
