Aditi Kashyap (Sorry for my english I'm german) But you have to remind that the fear of ducks comes from Edmund Herondale, Wills Father (Bane Chronicles) and Edmund isn't an ancestor of Kit because Kits side of the Herondale family comes from Tobias Herondale (who was born before Edmund) so basically he has nothing to do with the duck thing.

Kit being a Herondale made me lose my shit. The next book... UGH. I need it now. Jace and Clary running the institute was bittersweet for me because it means their growing older and that hurts my heart but it's also so sweet, just like Jem and Tessa not considering themselves Shadowhunters... I was sat in the middle of class when I read the Kieran and Mark make out scene and I had to conceal squeals, it took me so much by surprise. I thought when Cristina left, Mark was going to get beat or taken away or something, but NOPE. LOL Julian by the end was giving me the creeps, what with the whole Emma room and his lies and betrayal to poor Nightshade.): Mark and Emma, not going to lie I'm excited about that. The Jem lecture freaked me out, not good... Finding it it was Malcolm hurt my heart. I trusted him because of Magnus (got a little suspicious when he twitchy around Magnus though.) Couldn't help but sympathize with Malcolms revenge plot though. I don't trust Perfect Diego, he has that weird injury that makes me think Malcolm and his magic. The whip scene was so sad, it broke my heart. Magnus: "I've walked in on your ancestors doing worse." ANOTHER MALEC BABY. Omg. This book... I'm a mess.

See, I think that maybe the dark magic didn't so much affect Emma as it might have affected Julian. They can obviously feel what the others feels WAY more acutely than normal (Like Jace & Alec with the heavenly fire. That was a bit scary, especially for Alec.) and towards the end of the book Julian seemed much more aggressive, RUTHLESS, and like...demanding than he had been. What if the dark magic corrupted him somehow..? And with Emma trying to break his heart, just warping him worse. And can we talk about Ty and Kit because I have a feeling something is gonna happen with them. A storms a-brewin, I can tell.

I personally love Julian soooooo much. It must have been hard to take care of all those kids and he's just so strong. Also, I think I cried when Cristina said how much she wanted a parabatai and how it hurts when she sees parabatai together, because she wants something like that. Am I correct that the cover is when Emma is drowning with Cortana? I'm not sure because I thought Cortana was a short bladed sword, but o wasn't sure. I love how the birth control rune was a direct reference to city of fallen angels where izzy asks clary if she's slept with jace, then also says something along the lines of "you would have thought the Angel would have given us a birth control rune, but no dice". I'm also pretty sure regarding the clave's reason why parabatai can't fall in love (because they become mad) is either A) the madness thing is false ~ it happened once and though they didn't go mad, the clave is only saying that because they're jealous of the new power that these parabatai have and therefore they forbid it. Honestly, the clave is so problematic and that seems like exactly the kind of thing that they would do. or B) this going mad thing happened once, and it turned out really badly and the clave didn't know if the madness was induced by the personalities of these parabatai or if it was induced by the parabatai falling in love itself, and it was so bad that they weren't interested in finding out as long as it doesn't happen again.

There's the whole Sizzy engagement (I really wanted it to be Malec or Clace who where getting married but oh well). Also every time they mentioned Sebby my heart stopped. When they mentioned Hodge being a traitor so Jace and the Lightwoods I just thought you have no right. All the Emma and Julian scenes that escalated a lot quicker than Wessa and Clace. I just can't this book was so good.

+Martina Cardenas when Jace was connected to Sebastian, it was sort of like a demonic parabatai rune and all he had to do was cut through it to get rid of it. I know parabatai runes are probably more powerful but if cortana can cut through anything then it could probably also break their parabatai runes

Great review Christine! And your makeup looks great. I agree with someone's comment I saw below, and I think that Cortana will somehow be the key to severing Emma and Julian's parabatai bond so they can be together because "a sword made by wayland the smith can cut through anything." I totally suspected Malcom at first when he made zero progress on the translations, and when he kept insisting that the spell was a summoning spell. Like how could a warlock confuse a necromantic spell with a summoning spell? Also, violet eyes are a cool warlock mark. I'm so excited to see Kit in the next few books! I hope he meets Jace and we get to see the tmi kids make more appearances in the other books. Diana is sketching me out. We need to get to the bottom of what her deal is. I'm also super terrified to see what Emma's fake relationship with Mark will do to Julian, who has proved to not be the super gentle boy that we thought he was. Also, I'm worried that since Mark said "why pretend?" that Emma will form actual feelings for Mark and the love triangle/quadrilateral/pentagon/hexagon will get even more complicated than it already is.

*LADY MIDNIGHT SPOILER* I just finished watching your Lady Midnight live show with Kat and Jesse. The part where you guys where talking about Magnus seeing Emma and Jules at a wedding and they said Aline and Helen's, but Magnus said not that one, my theory is that Magnus had like a prediction of the future similar to how in The Mortal Instruments series, he had visions a city of blood, and I believe Magnus once said he could have visions because of who his father was (not completely sure on the last part) but maybe Magnus saw them in a vision in their own marriage. Also, at the end you guys were talking about how no one realized Jules and Emma's feelings for each other except for maybe Diana, but Simon realized their feelings as well (I think that was mentioned in The Fiery Trial).
