I have to live brilliantly and passionaly. Roses, Roses, bloom noblely. Roses, Roses, will be dispersing beautifully... Roses, Roses, bloom noblely. Roses, Roses, will be dispersing beautifully... English translation of the French opening: Lady, Lady Oscar She dresses like a boy. Lady, Lady Oscar They talk about her in every song. Lady, Lady Oscar You lived during the revolution. Lady, Lady Oscar Nobody will ever forget your name. One day her father decided to make a soldier out of her. While her friends wore petticoats she put on her spurs. Instead of playing with dolls she was always galloping. Lady, Lady Oscar She dresses like a boy. Lady, Lady Oscar They talk about her in every song. Lady, Lady Oscar you lived during the revolution. Lady, Lady Oscar Nobody will ever forget your name. English translation of the Arabic opening: Years go by, and life is a big book So let's read through the story of Oscar The Musketeer of all musketeers, horizon is her eyes The charmer of the brave, all fall in love with her In her voice, lies the singing of the Canary In her silence, lie the sweetest of words Her words are the blade of a sword For the right and good, she fears not to march Valiant, Valiant Her opponents hide away Valiant, Valiant For her sword is decisive Valiant, Valiant Her opponents hide away Valiant, Valiant For her sword is decisive English translation of the German opening: Wild rose, proud and free, only ever true to herself, Lady Oscar, Lady Oscar. She can fight like a man, she can fence and ride horses, she makes miracles happen, she can brave dangers, and still always remains a woman. Lady Oscar, always waiting for a new adventure, she wants to take chances. Lady Oscar, all alone she walks through darkness and fire, without hesitating. Lady Oscar, she always desires truth and justice, Lady Oscar, she would give her life for the weak and poor. Lady Oscar, Lady Oscar, with the wind of liberty in her flowing hair, Lady Oscar, Lady Oscar, like an angel freeing the world from fear and hatred, ready for any fight, and yet she is always ladylike. English translation of the Italian opening: Great celebrations in the royal palace, there is a new child in the kingdom; blond the hair, pink the cheeks, Oscar you will be called! The good father wished a little boy but alas! - you were born; in the cradle he put a foil, blue bowwed lady. Oh Lady, Lady, Lady Oscar, everyone cheers when you pass in! Oh Lady, Lady, Lady, Lady; Oh Lady, Lady, Lady, La... English translation of the korean opening: Fragrant flowers even without the wind A beautiful flower blooming with thorns I'm not lonely even if I bloom alone A rose blooming with joy like the world Oscar born as a rose I will live with passion and splendor Roses roses are blooming gloriously Roses roses bloom innocence Roses roses are blooming gloriously Roses roses bloom innocence.

Yeah i was really surprised to discover that the original op was so dramatic and romanticized (in a good way). But the french one got that patriotic sense in it like an anthem, it would make sense since we are very familiar with our history and so can't really romanticize this period as much as foreigners may.

With the ending of the series that's very anti-revolution (Oscar, Andre, and then only in the manga Marie-Antoinette and her lover whose lives are destroyed by the revolution), it doesn't fit very much... it's as if the song is celebrating their deaths :) I think the french producers (club dorothee, that tried to market everything to children even hokuto no ken, wasn't it?) tried their best to downplay that tone because they couldn't after all present a children show that's a monarchy apology or at best morally grey from their point of view.

@julienschmitt46475 жыл бұрын
@@vicarjose4681 impossible, lady oscar arrived in France much before club dorothee, so they had nothing to do with the opening. When lady oscar arrived in France, it was praised for its historical accuracy. Plus the whole story can be seen on how everything led to the revolution (especially in its second part). André and Oscar sacrificing to reach the Bastille is quite fitting with the whole «revolution song». I think the french song is quite clever as it also prepare the audience to Oscar's death and heroic traits, as they keep using past tense to talk about her. Very different from the japanese but quite good i'd say

I think Italian version is the most refined; the lyrics' meaning is changed than in Japanese but, musically speaking, I perceive grace. The same Lady Oscar's grace. Listening the others I didn't felt this: about Arabic and Japanese versions I felt sadness and depth feelings, then in French, German and Korean idk... I felt like trivial songs for kids. I don't know all this languages so I missed the lyrics meaning. In my opinion Italian is the best.

Arabic one is my favorite.. I like how it stays true to the original theme song but a prettier take. Arabic is a prettier language. The other theme songs didn't have emotional feel but more like "heroic" which isn't bad per say, but I think the emotional sadder feel capture the show and Oscar's character better.
@middlemist22245 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. The Arabic version really blew me away and it's partly because this language is the least familiar to me. I noticed that in the descriptions, this video is categorized as a Kid's Old Song. I'm guessing that the reason why the other versions have a "heroic" tone is because the entire anime was edited to be viewed as a children's show and they probably cut the darkest scenes to make it less like a tragedy. It'd be helpful if someone who has watched one of those versions could verify my theory.

I viewed Lady Oscar as Kid in German TV so i prefer the German Version, the Japanase (original) sounds too soft, the French not so much revolutionary as the French Anthem (which is also a Revolution Song), the Arabic sounds nice, the Italian and Korean too awkward - if you watch the show you learn that its not a comedy anime - its about multiple problems human had to face in these times like *famine *poverty *child marriage (a 12 year old girl rather suicides than to marriage) *male/female roles - cause Oscar is a female in male positon as Captain of the Royal Guard *homosexuality and much more - there is violance, murder, hit-and-run, executing kids for stealing a.s.o Now as i am 30 years old i see all these multiple facettes of the Anime

all other than arabic or japanese are either too upbeat for the story or lame. The german or italian are beautiful sung but they don't go with the main theme of the story
