She should have known her place better and she should have known that a lot of black people were born in this country and when the person she asked the question to answer her why did she keep asking her the same question she is one of the snob in the Royal society and she should have learn a lot from the late Queen who would have been appalled at the way she question this person and she never would have done it if queen Elizabeth was still live I think that the late queen children and grandchildren are not like this but some in the old firm still are

I do not think she was apologising for being racist but for how the interaction made Fulani the Fraud (we all know Fulani full of shit). Fulani did not get what she wanted. She hoped to tap into Charles pocket and to milk the public. Instead she was lambasted with hate from all races.
@flabbybum9562

The early reports seem to have missed something important in Lady Hussey's apology. She apologised if what 'she said' caused offence. She doesn't say anywhere that Fulani's version of events was strictly correct. The way this elderly lady was hung out to dry by the Royals, and the biased reporting from the likes of the BBC, was a disgrace.

Lady Susan Hussey needn't have apologised. It sickens me what happened to her. And the photos of them together, smiling, sicken me, also. MUCH information has come out regarding Sistah Space and its dubious business practices, replete with sketchy financial reporting, nepotism and questionable everyday functioning. ANY charity experiences the same scrutiny regarding possible non-compliance. Somehow, Sistah Space has ducked and got round the scrutiny that's routine to charity administration. Well, they're getting it now. Oh well, Headley, you brought the attention to yourself.

Perhaps we should all settle down.Being asked where you’re from, is a polite way to open a friendly conversation, giving one an opportunity to tell people about your nationality, your cultural heritage and then go on from there. This requires some open mindedness and willingness to engage with a stranger. If everyone is afraid to start a conversation for fear of being deemed racist, that would also be racist. We must not place barriers to diverse conversations. We should embrace the opportunity to make a connection if someone asks, where are you from, and answer in a manner that facilitates conversation. Monosyllabic abrupt answers indicate hostility, and are just downright rude. .

An apology just makes Lady Susan look what she is:gracious and genteel and, if Marlene is found out to be part of a set up(which l believe she was) that does not take away from the fact Lady Susan has taken the higher ground. God bless her. I don't think Lady Susan's age has anything to do with it, she is hugely respected and experienced and Marlene set out to trap her. Truth will out.

People always ask me where I am from simply because they are curious. I am mixed raced, and I let people guess! It’s fun actually what they guess. They just want to know more about you and find heritage/ethnicity/background interesting. I have never ever felt offended by it, I find it amazing that we all come from different parts of the world and live together and embrace eachothers cultures.

Lady Hussey was a Lady in Waiting, it was her job to get the back story on anyone before they speak to the Queen Consort. Her job was to ask the woman in the Ethnic Dress where the outfit was from. She only did her job. To say she was a little blunt or rude may be worth discussion but there was no racism involved.
@c.m.cordero1772
@c.m.cordero1772 2 жыл бұрын
She was rude. Probably not racist. I’ve heard her described as “ elderly” and ,by some, perhaps “not quite as sharp as she once was”. If true…why is she doing the “ vetting” ( getting the backstory)? And why should anybody be vetted when they’re already there? Seems backwards to me. Anyone coming into the presence of heads of state or people adjacent to them ,in formal social situations ,should be vetted already.
@Jamie-Z
@Jamie-Z 2 жыл бұрын
@@c.m.cordero1772 I guess from what you say, that you must be from the US. Lady Hussey is not involved in any way with vetting, the police do that. She is there to get the back story on each person and as they approach the Queen Consort say "and this is blah blah blah". Just the back story to start a conversation and nothing whatsoever to do with vetting them to make sure they are not terrorists. Very different. She is from a different time when manners were somewhat different. She would not tollerate the rude way some people evade the question and say something stupid like "I am British" when wearing a traditional costume that is clearly not British and would not see it as offensive to brush someone's hair away when it is obstructing their nametag. Nowadays we have to do stupid linguistic dance routines to avoid offending someone who is very clearly seeking offence. I think Headley should have been thrown out for causing such turmoil and seeking problems.

British people are always blamed for slavery and racism. We know both existed, but from many countries, and wrong on all accounts. What isn't recognised is Britain's declaring slavery as wrong, and fighting to shut it down, taking on countries that refused to give up the slave trade, such as the Portuguese, French, Spanish, etc, including some parts of Africa. The British incurred enormous debt, paying for freedom of slaves that their 'owners' wouldn't let go, a debt that was only recently paid up in full, in the year 2015. This part of history is mostly ignored, allowing the resentments to continue. I don't live in the UK, I'm not biased by ethnicity, I just happen to feel saddened to see one country taking on most, if not all of past wrongdoings, when they actually brought that particular era to an end. It's history and well documented.

With a made up African name, insulting at that. It's likely what caused Lady Susan to move her hair aside to see Ms Headleys' name tag, being well travelled and old enough to recall history, Lady S would have been appalled at the insensitivity of pairing the Igbo name, Ngozi, with Fulani.
