Update 2/3/21 CROW ~ The eaglets continue to eat well in our care. Their eyes continue to have little to no discharge. Mild irritation to conjunctiva is still present in E17's right eye and both of E18's eyes. Many have asked if the eaglets are still "bonking". Over the last few days, a clear pattern has emerged. E17 is showing a lot of aggression towards E18, particularly during feeding times. This is natural eaglet behavior to compete for resources. Although we are able to separate them during feeding to reduce aggression in our hospital, once they are back in the nest, this behavior is likely to continue.

Even E17 will go back home and do such bonking in front of mom&dad! I am sure E17 will remember the experience and may think mom&dad will do the same and not do it! Let’s watch as this chapters of E17&E18 is unfolding pages like none other!!!!!! Thank you for the share Of this update! Love it, I need to watch E17 over and after to pause that photo!!!!! The bonking began very early in the nest when mama Eagle was feeding the eagles. It scared me to see such aggressive behavior that thee one eglate could not even hold his head up let alone eat. Extremely aggressive behavior. I was shocked and felt sorry to see it in such young eaglets. So the aggressive behavior continues.

They need separate nest bowls now. Not too far away but, not too near either. And they don't have to be as deep as they were in the beginning. Maybe CROW can Pat the nest bowl out a bit wider too, so they can escape from one another if they need to. Soon, they will be too big to even fit under Mom and Dad anyway.
@ricolee3644 жыл бұрын
How about when the E’s return to the nest don’t put them together in the same nest bowl. Make separate nest bowl and put them in separate so they won’t be able to bonking. Can this be possible?
@platinum1x1x174 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same a few days ago. That is where all the trouble started because they were too close togerther and they couldn't get away from one another. They are big enough to go in a separate nest bowl now, or, it will all happen once more like before. I hope someone else sees your post and works on this idea.
@SW133334 жыл бұрын
They will always go to the parent feeding them - (It's almost rare that you see 2 parents feeding at the same time) so the bonking may continue. Also the other issues that Grape512 mentioned. Stephanie

Hopefully they will be back in a day or two as much longer and i worry that their might be trouble in acceptance.
