KNF Nest Cam E-3 ~ Alex Is In Defense Mode Again Chasing Off Two More Eagles F3 & F4! 12.25.23

In the morning, Alex finds the intruders are back once again. First one that shows up is F3 - another big powerful female like F1. Alex is visibly upset as F3 lands on his nest - he chooses to fly off and she follows him. Alex did not stay away long and returned back to his eggs - his only remembrance of Andria and their prior life they had before she passed away suddenly two weeks ago.
Then a couple hours later, here comes F4 the sub adult flying into the nest tree! Alex gets up and goes after F4 - you can see how difficult it is for him to evict her. Alex chases her off and returns to his eggs but there is more action as she is back in the upper branches. Poor Alex flies from branch to branch back and forth trying to get rid of her. He returns to incubate his eggs but remains on alert for quite some time.
Alex incubated the eggs but left the nest at 3:33pm and did not return for the night. He will most likely return in the morning. Thank you for watching!

So sad. This reminded me last year with Shadow. He continued to incubate the eggs even though it was not viable. So sad 😢

Shadow is such a deep eagle, just the sweetest thing. He loves being a Daddy and was so sad he stayed on those eggs wayyy past time. Alex reminding me of the same.😢

I knew poor Alex is going to have a hard time dealing with these intruders!😢😢 He is so dedicated to those eggs,F1 is no where to be seen,life is,going to be chaotic!!Hoping she will appear as she is much needed..she is one super power lady!!😂😅 Hopefully his grieving will be over,he needs to stay strong to protect his territory! Bless Alex heart, he’s done all he could to hatch the kids, but it has been overwhelming for him. He has lost everything. My hearts cry’s for him. 😭 May he find happiness again somewhere down the road and be the wonderful daddy he is! Loyal and dedicated to his family. Love you Alex. ♥️🦅

I found it very sad to see Alex leave the nest tree in order to get F4 out of there. He is tired. His heart aches and he sure doesn’t need all this fuss. Pretty bold of F4 to mess with the eggs. Seems her hormones are on high and she wants that spot in the nest for her eggs. I pray F1 returns. Alex seemed happy with her. We can only wait and watch.

His voice sounds so weak at times, I wonder if they pick up on it and conclude Alex is weak and easy pickings (To be booted out or courted), of course Alex is more then capable of proving otherwise but its just an interesting thought I had. Best of luck to him, a lot of people can relate to loosing a loved one to a stroke or other seemingly random even like what happened to Andria.

They say opposites attract. But, not if it's eagles with hormones out of sync. Alex, is the opposite of Beau. His prolactin is driving him to incubate. Beau is still in mating mode. If only we could match Alex with Gabby, they would be hormonally compatible. As would Beau with these hot to trot ladies. 😅 The cog in their machinery is Alex lost his mate and Gabby was ready for eggs, while Beau just discovered mating. Their timing for families this season was thrown off course. Not any birdy's fault. They were responding to their hormones. F1 may return and we would like to see that. But, her mission is to start a family. So, she might have moved on to look. We might never know. But, I surely hope that's where she is, rather than hurt from a battle. Even though I wouldn't advise looking for love in all the wrong places, as Alex would be a prince of a catch. ❤ Again.... it's all about the hormones! TY for the video, LH! I think, the first female coming to the nest could be F1! Alex gets up and flies away like he did many times before. He was not chasing her away from the nest or tried to fight her like the other one later...Both were alerting, maybe there is another eagle around at this time. We should be careful to name every eagle which appears to the nest to be another female, until we have clear identification markers. I compared this female here to a video with F1 and for me it could be the same eagle, big and powerful. Maybe someone has got any clear identification markers? 🦅

Hi Sonja this is a new female F3. F1 has a very distinct neck line and tail pigmentation & a unique wing pattern. F1 has small black streaks in her tail - F3 does not have these markers. F3 has darker feathers and is bigger than F1.The mods have confirmed this is F3 not F1. When F3 first appeared on Dec 24 th Alex was extremely upset with her arrival - clearly he would not behave that way around F1.

This is tragic. This beautiful eagle doing his very best to defend his nest and territory while incubating solo, and undoubtedly shaken by, what to him is, Andria's disappearance. And then F1 not appearing for many days after he had just started to trust her. Prayers for him, and for F1 at this point! ♥🙏🦅

I am very concerned about Alex. I was viewing the KNF Alex Eagle Cam today's video. I didn't see Alex on the nest at all. I moved today's video back to the beginning then forwarded it little till the end. I didn't see Alex on the nest. There was no sign of F1 either.

I really feel sorry for Alex. Is he going to be able to raise the chicks alone when they haven't even hatched yet? I thought its not possible as it requires both the parents to raise them.

H Schen she was on the nest on Sat Dec 23rd off and on - brought a fish to eat. Then she did not return the next day and F3 showed up!
