I don't know if the eagle understood that Emmett was trying to HELP her, but you could see by the change in her demeanor when she recognized he was not a threat. Thrilling rescue adventure to witness!

Most of the time when a bird is captured, usually for the purpose of bird banding, they will try and stay as clam as possible, most birds understand that moving around and screeching will put them at a higher risk for getting hurt or even killed. As long as the handler stays calm the bird will also stay calm. The eagle after a while, like what you said, was most likely able to figure out she wasn’t going to be eaten after a while of being handled.

The video is really proof that we have a Creator.❤️ Did you know bald eagles have eyes that are 8 times sharper than ours?! They could literally see a rabbit from 3.2km (2 miles) away and spot fish underwater! Their feet even have a grip that’s 10 times stronger than ours! This means they could lift a human baby or 24 billiard balls! Bald eagles also build the largest nests than any bird. They can be up to 4 meters (13 feet) deep, 2.5 meters (8 feet) wide, and weigh up to 1 ton. They use the same nest for years and add new material every year. Some nests have been used for over 35 years! (And their brains are as big as a walnut!) We really live in a detailed world.😌 A world that certainly did not exist by accident, but invented!

She was understandably terrified, but slowing realizing she was not drowning, these giants were not trying to eat her….just restrain her, she probably just gave in to her exhaustion and decided to rest. Pure instinct. Settled down, because Darwinian evolution did not program her for this "human holding me" situation - nothing stimulated any of "fight, flight, eat or hump". The biting was "fight", would have gone postal if it had shown promise. That guy is lucky to have all his eyes and fingers.

It's amazing becoz all animals are instinctively aware of Human beings which are considered prime of creation . They instinctively recognise us , fear us and try their best to avoid us . A predator in the jungle also tries to avoid humans as best as possible unless he is forced due to hunger . It is amazing and it is becoz they all share similar psyche of humans . They were informed by God the designer of all things who we are. All animals instinctively have knowledge about us . They know that we are not monkeys nor we are elephant . This is why Animals are known to buzz around Human beings who help them despite of their detriment to their survival. Their is a spiritual relation which far exceeds the material outlook of Modern science. This doesn't means that one has to throw away evolution as the crucial step . Nobody debates on the authenticity and feasibility of the existence evolution except it's mechanism. Their is more to Life than so called random matter colliding with each other . All life have soul and it's is a transcendental immaterial energy that permeates in all living beings. Their is a reason why we are still learning .

Animals can sense it becoz Animals regardless of where they live know who we are and what we are. This sounds very unscientific as it doesn't fits the material science but it is a fact . In Hershey, PA my wife and I use to rescue injured Hawks, Falcons, and Kestrels. When a injured bird was found the people called us and we would do a basic health check and then we would wrap the bird in a light blanket. We left the head and feet unwrapped so the bird knew we were nor going to hurt it. My wife would carry the bird on her lap which was covered by a small towel. A rapture bird rehab was nearby so it was easier to take the bird in the car which was a Dodge Neon 2 door. We made about 13 or 14 runs over the 6 years we lived there. The people that gave us the biggest hassle were the local police. They would worry the bird would break loose and it would cause me to get into a an accident. We were at the release for several of the ones we rescued. We were never trained to do this, but I guess we did a good job since all the birds we brought to the rehab were able to be released.

My father was a veterinarian in Sparks, Nevada, and the designated vet for the Nevada Fish and Wildlife. He took in a Golden Eagle whose wing was broken, pinned it, and isolated the wings so the break could heal. (I was in school and didn't get to witness the surgery.) The eagle was placed in a cage and was fed by fish delivered by a warden of the Nevada Fish and Wildlife. I do not remember the length of time we had the Golden Eagle but I remember my father opening the cage wearing thick leather welding gloves to feed the eagle. The eagle would rock back on her back and present her talons in a very threatening way. I wasn't there when the game warden came for the eagle, but we heard that the eagle was released and had been seen many days afterwards. Very majestic raptors. I was grateful that my father's surgery was successful. We received a wide variety of birds of pray and mammals from the Nevada Fish and Wildlife game wardens. It was very cool and rewarding.

Well done. Eagles often get stuck in the water, particularly if the fish they grab is too heavy and the talons lock on. Then they try to swim ashore. This exhausts the bird and they often drown. That is probably why it was relatively co-operative.

This act is commendable on so many levels. First that they gave a damn and went out of their way to help. Then the calm. quiet respect this hero showed to this eagle. Humans are so loud and excitable. Too many raise their voice and yell or laugh without even realizing that only adds extra stress around wildlife. It takes a special person to suppress that urge and give the animal the quiet needed to relax. It's really wonderful to see and this guy is a very caring, special human. So much respect!👍🏼👍🏼

I saved a juvenile red tail hawk from being run over in the middle of the street. I pulled over and she looked exhausted, she let me pick her up and put her in my car. Her eyes were beautiful and I felt an instant connection to her. The experience of being close to her was beautiful and unexplainable. I took her to a bird rescue where they rehabilitated her and released her. I totally understand what this guy was talking about when he was close to this beautiful wild thing 😍

That unexplainable feeling you described, actually has an explanation. The Bible says what humanity's real purpose on Earth is, in Genesis 1:28. "Further, God blessed them, and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth.” God put us in this world to look after it, and all the animals as well. When we do that, we are fulfilling our purpose, and we get that great feeling you described.

@@robertcorbett9455 clearly my comment went above the heads of some of you people. humans seem to be consistently incompetent at reading animals, because they just project their own emotions onto the animal. Trying to equate a wild animal simply looking in your direction as a "sign of trust" is completely delusional. First of all, why would it "look" for comfort? It's a separate spieces with completely different instincts, social dynamics and body language than a human. Just the very concept of meeting eye contact will have completely different meanings in other parts of the animal kingdom. And why would a non-domesticated animal even find the presence of a human comforting? It doesn't know humans, and has no clue that it's current entrapment is any better than being in the river. The fact that the person above me is arguing that it was looking for a "cue" to see if the other person could be trusted is just an example of how much you people live in a fantasy world. Because not only would that make the assumption this eagle practically got the animal equivalent of Stockholm Syndrome within a few minutes of being captured, now it can also apperantly understand and use our human body language... how you people don't realize the insanity of your perception is beyond me. This sort of anthropomorphic mentality towards wild animals is the same thing that gave us incidents like Timothy Treadwell.

Birds are so intelligent that she probably realized finally that it was going to be OK, and relaxed, and looking into her eyes that must have been an incredible experience. 1 time I rescued a seagull, unfortunately she didn't survive the night, but I kept her warm, safe and dry, away from predators, in a basket on top of blankets and a warming brick, in my house. And when I started to pet her she looked into my eyes as if to say wow I didn't realize that people were like this, I wish I could tell all my other bird friends and family. It was an amazing experience, and she passed in peace not fear. I love birds, thank you for saving this beautiful eagle! She will remember. By the way I called animal rescue and vets and no one would see her because she was considered a wild animal.

I had the pleasure of rescuing a Red Tailed Hawk, that was just about as big as the eagle, who apparently been accidentally poisoned by something a farmer had put out. I was able to wrap him in an apron from work and caried him in my arms to a wildlife vet for the state if N.C. I too was so taken by that birds absolute beauty and the gorgeous eyes. Like with your Eagle the Hawk too was calm after a few minutes. It still to this day gives ne the chills just thinking about that experience and being able to stroke his head. It was a distinct honor to be able to help that magnificent bird and something I will NEVER forget.
