Being a young person. Only 20 years old I'm use to saying it. I feel comfortable saying it knowing the history, as well feeling confident when saying it. To me its a word of endearment for us . As a young generation, many of us say it in a good way, not all of us. I actually hate the idea of if you can say we should to.
@LadyNyca8 жыл бұрын
+MzBre It's an ugly word it took me years and several experiences later to see it but I do and im reprogramming myself to never use it.

This is another Ms. Anna I truly enjoy this Storytimea video. And yes I agree that the N word is to never to be used. I've seen many of other ethnic groups calling each other the N word thinking it cool. My question is when is it ever okay to put yourself or others down? It is a nasty word to demean or. try to degrade make less than. Just making satan happy. IJS.

I think that word should not be spoken out of any persons mouth. I'm white as white can be. Some people of my race, I'm truly disgusted of what comes out of their mouth. I'm first generation American. My back ground is Sicilian/Italian. I love your channel and glad you are coming back to story time. If someone would take our skins off, we are all the same inside. The only problem is some are good and some are evil people inside. People just don't respect people anymore😔love ya Lady Nyca🌹

New fan here & I am late obviously on this one, but it still deserves a comment. While I understand your feelings( I have much respect for anyone who, like myself will not hesitate to put someone in check, one way or the other by way) as a black strong gay man who has a really bad temper, my dad use to say to me, that words only have power when you give it to them. It took me a while to understand that because I would beat the hell out of people if they said something wrong to me. Since he’s been gone ( he passed 11 years ago now) I learned to walk away from stuff, because what someone says means nothing to me. I can be anything under the sun, as long as you don’t put your hands on me. I also found out, that by me not letting people get under my skin, it kinda leaves them speechless & looking dumb.

That word was used to describe a black person during slavery as non productive, lazy, and having ways that are not acceptable to mainstream society. If we continue to use that word, then we continue to feed into the old stereotype thinking that other groups of people think about us. Since every word today have to be politically correct, that word definitely should be one of the words that should not be used. It is very disrespectful to use that word, even among friends. Whenever a person uses that word, it only signifies to me that they lack a certain level of education. Yes, I am talking about the N word.
@LadyNyca6 жыл бұрын
Well you right about the meaning and you might be even correct about everybody not using it. I'm just not there yet I do slip up at times but I also know I'm intelligent maybe ignorant to how it may make us look but definitely not low intelligence. I'm still a work in progress and thank you for watching.

I use the n word but you best believe it is not a compliment when I use it, either to describe a person or situation. I don't feel that any non-black person should ever use that word, under any circumstances. I really like your story times as well. Go on and talk about whatever goes across your mind on FSF!
@LadyNyca8 жыл бұрын
+ebony isis See me too I know I shouldn't either but it seems more disrespectful when non blacks say it. Thanks for watching and understanding I really feel strongly on this.

I'm late to the conversation, but I've made up my mind that I'm going to be watching most, or all of your videos, so I will be commenting on a lot of them, I don't expect you to reply to all my comments, although I know, and appreciate, that you are good at replying to our comments! Which I think is awesome of you to do! :) Now, as for this video, I will throw my two cents in on this matter.... It is not okay for people who aren't of African descent to use the "n-word." I don't care what the circumstances are! I have dated outside of my race a number of times. I have friends who are people of color, and most of my non-white friends are black. AND I also come from a large, wonderful, close-knit family, and I am happy to say that my family, blood-relation, marriage relation, or even the relation that comes from deep, real bonds of love and loyalty, and my immediate family includes black and mixed people! Even with all of that, I still would never call anyone that awful word! Nor do I use other hateful, racist terms. I can say in full truth that I don't have a racist cell in my body! I hate it, and find it painful, upsetting, and beyond my understanding as to why that's not the case for every one..
@essenceoftisha72218 жыл бұрын
I love you and your story time videos you keep it real, your blunt and upfront, I do think that we should work on not using the N word, with each other or allowing other races to call us that, we lead by example

+Essence OF Tisha I agree that's why I'm doing my best to let the word go and thank you I appreciate the kind words.

Yes, I totally agree. I really don't think we as black people should use the word towards each other in any form, as well as other races. Why keep utilizing a term against one another that we as black people were referred to before, during and after slavery? It makes no sense. Furthermore how can we expect other races, primarily whites, to abstain from calling us the n word when we are still referring to each other as such? To me, it sends the message we are still stuck on stupid and/or think of ourselves as just that, the n word. That's my take. Oh and I don't have any white friends just associates but even if we are cool, they know better to play with me like that.
@LadyNyca8 жыл бұрын
+sheila ohsheilz Thank you that's how I see it now and im guilty of doing it but now im seeing it differently I'm trying to stay conscious of it to not say it. I definitely do feel its OK for whites to say it. Thanks for watching.

Under no circumstance should anyone be called the N word. I think it odd that persons of color address each other in that manner. I have never felt comfortable enough with anyone to call them that.

I think all of us should stop using the word nigga including us black people cuz it's a very offensive term and I don't like it when people use the term so loosely, especially in my generation. That was totally uncalled for for what that white man said to y'all and I don't blame you for getting upset cuz I woulda been in my feelings too.

Fencing lessons...? Your kids are very lucky. I got judo lessons and basketball lessons instead and then later on in life I ditched them both and I convinced my mom that I wanted to learn how to play the piano. After just three lessons I quit and my mom was beyond pissed at me and she wanted to whoop dat azz, looolll :) Needless to say, I don't play the piano... Just the triangle, looolll :) Now about that word... I said this so many times and got attacked for it, but we as a people should not even refer to ourselves as such... And it kills me when people say it's a "term of endearment"... Endearment my ass...!
