IHOP should put up a metal sign. Here in Jersey, in a nearby town, the police are anal about those spots. I saw a woman get a ticket for parking there and she had no handicap people in the van will using the hang tag.

You probably don't know this. Because most of you making KZbin comments are absolute morons.... But there's two types of tickets. Tickets against a driver. And tickets against a vehicle. If you're speeding, you get a ticket against your license. If you have a taillight out, the ticket is against the vehicle, regardless of who is driving. If you run a red light with cameras in most states, that's a ticket against the vehicle, not the driver. Can you guess which ticket a parking citation is? Can you guess who that cop car belongs to? Can you guess how they're going to pay for the ticket... To themselves...? Tldr; you're an idiot.

When my daughter was 17 she got lost and pulled into a CVS because she saw a cop. She explained that she and her friend were lost. He said your parked in a handicap spot. Gave her a ticket. She said I didn't see a sign. He said it's there. The next day we went back to CVS and took pictures because the sign was in a bush and there were no blue lines. There was a car there with no handicap plates or placard. We went to court, she pleaded no guilty and gave the judge the pictures. As he looked at them he smiled and showed them to the cop. He looked at the pictures and said " I don't remember that bush being there". The judge asked him,"so you think she planted it there?" The cop turned red and everyone laughed. Never went back to that city, cause they would be looking for her. 😊

@Sylar Rogue ... Agree. That's why I'm 100% in favor of defunding The police. Police Qualified Immunity has been abolished. Now we're working on get rid of police unions. We The People elect our government officials into office to uphold The Constitution. Police officers and all government officials work for The People. Our tax dollars pays their salaries. We The People are the boss.
@ians2777

@@guesswhomartin9249 I probably agree with some things but defund the police sounds like a dumb idea on face value. Unions in general are fine, we should have more people protected from getting let go for non-legitimate reasons. We need more punishment for people like cops though. They are given the benefit if the doubt in court because they are supposed to be held to a higher standard and treated as an independent party but that couldn't be further from the truth. They are allowed to lie in court, fake/tamper with evidence, make false claims, etc with rarely any punishment and they are incentivised to give people tickets. You cant claim a higher standard without being held responsible and you cant claim indepence if you get something out of it.
@guesswhomartin9249
@guesswhomartin9249 3 жыл бұрын
@@ians2777 ... 1st, thank you for your comment. But yes, defunding The police is a step in the right direction. To my know, 16 cities have already defunded the police and more cities and states are working on it. This is a very good step in the right direction. About Police officers lying in court: Police Officers are NOT allowed to lie in court. They're under Oath. This is how those police officers involved the Rodney King beating were all terminated and sent to prison. Especially right now, Police officers are all under a microscope. They're watching their every move. I hear that because, they defunded the police like 176 police officers quit their jobs. Don't know in what city.

It just seems like a case of “lazy cop” who just wanted a good spot. If he *really* didn’t know, he could have just said “I messed up” rather than making excuses. If a civilian can’t get away with “I didn’t see it” why on earth should a cop be allowed to say that without some sort of repercussions.

I said I did because he was doing paperwork and not looking at anything else. That's like when the same supervisor told me when I asked if occasionally an officer could watch speeders on our street, she told me "your neighborhood isn't anything special, it's not like it's one of the upper-income neighborhoods". That doesn't qualify as handicap parking space without a sign posted.. that is a fact! It is the property owner who is in violation of federal law. The person parking in a spot without a posted sign has committed to crime since it doesn’t meet code for a handicap parking spot as defined under the federal guidelines and law . I refer to them as abandoned disabled parking spots . I used to build and lay out parking lots for a living . When a property owner would redesign buildings we would relocate spot and abandoned old ones . We would tell the property owner they could pay us to black out the ground symbols or just leave them to wear off. Interestingly we also recommend not painting the symbols on the ground in the first place .

I said ticket of course, she wouldn't hesitate to give me one if I was parked illegally so damn right she is gonna get one. I was so happy that she got a ticket Edit: I'm disabled and had to park 7 spots further because she was parked in handicapped so I'm glad she had to apologize to me in person for being rude when I approached her. @Cipheiz it's funny how pavement markings on the road have to be followed, this includes turning lanes and no passing zones among other things, while driving at road speeds. Yet when you are driving slow they don't mean shit. I guess you don't have to park inside the lines either. Just park wherever you want, because you can't see the lines on the ground, and there is no signs indicating where they are. Unless he wasn't paying attention while parking perfectly between the lines, he should have noticed the markings on the ground saying it's an accessible spot. Law about signage or not, he wasn't paying attention while driving. He should have know accessible spots are near the front doors of a business, and in a lot that size there is more than one of these types of spots.
@northernsnow6982
@northernsnow6982 2 жыл бұрын
@Cipheiz ok so I can drive wherever I want on the road, because the markers on the ground don't hold any legal powers. Especially in the winter which it is clearly not winter in this situation. I'll just drive on any side of the road, because there are no signs indicating lanes. Also when I park, I'm going to pull up to the front door with my truck parked sideways, because the markings on the ground aren't enforceable.
@northernsnow6982
@northernsnow6982 2 жыл бұрын
@Cipheiz stfu about where I live. I ignored that part of your comment for a reason. But since you want to bring up were I live. Where I live the cops are trained common courtesy and park further away from businesses, I know this for a fact. As a result, I've never seen a cop car this close to a business, unless it was an emergency. So this would have never been an issue. I don't know where you live, but to excuse a cop for wrongdoing is appalling where I come from. And when they break the law, or just act irresponsible, they get reprimanded for it, because they aren't above the law. Enough lawsuits have been won against them that they are trained in order to save money, not just for common courtesy. This includes parking where they are supposed to. I'm glad I don't live where you do, and cops don't think that they are better than everyone else. And if I'm being silly about how you can park, because markings on the ground don't mean anything as a civilian, then this cop is more silly using it as an excuse for himself.
@northernsnow6982
@northernsnow6982 2 жыл бұрын
@Cipheiz some laws require this, and others require that, and others require a different thing all together is a stupid way to operate. Edit: I'm glad where I live, any of the prior mentioned ways, that are visible, are legal ways to enforce the law. And it's not just willy-nilly depending on the situation, as that is too hard to enforce.

“Didn’t realize it was a handicapped parking spot?” Please. 1. Parking spot clearly marked 2. Rockstar parking spot would usually clue you in that it could be handicap parking. 3. The painted lines next to the spot for wheelchair access would be another indicator. I thought one of the first things they teach in cop school, is be aware of your surroundings. Is this the kind of deputy you want patrolling our streets, keeping us safe?

Way back when, I took a written test for a police job. We were given an accident scene picture to look at for ???? 2 minutes. I focused on street names, license plates, bystanders, and such. Then we were given a test on it. One question was "where's the McDonald's ". Fortunately I noticed the build board sign saying two blocks up and on the right. Never did become a cop. Everywhere I applied a big city cop applied and usually got hired. I was not willing to start in the big city.

Tampatec here’s the thing. The ones on the ground don’t mean anything according to law. That’s why they have signs. They weren’t properly marked. This is because, such as in the case when a parking lot is redone, handicap spaces could be removed or moved to another spot, but businesses don’t really remove the spot, it’s just covered(sometimes not even that), but still clearly visible. Here you would be asked to move, if you don’t or try to fight it, then you’ll get a ticket(though this is to the officers discretion, in a case where the parking lot is more packed and close spaces are at a premium, you will likely get a ticket)
