You probably don't know this. Because most of you making KZbin comments are absolute morons.... But there's two types of tickets. Tickets against a driver. And tickets against a vehicle. If you're speeding, you get a ticket against your license. If you have a taillight out, the ticket is against the vehicle, regardless of who is driving. If you run a red light with cameras in most states, that's a ticket against the vehicle, not the driver. Can you guess which ticket a parking citation is? Can you guess who that cop car belongs to? Can you guess how they're going to pay for the ticket... To themselves...? Tldr; you're an idiot.

When my daughter was 17 she got lost and pulled into a CVS because she saw a cop. She explained that she and her friend were lost. He said your parked in a handicap spot. Gave her a ticket. She said I didn't see a sign. He said it's there. The next day we went back to CVS and took pictures because the sign was in a bush and there were no blue lines. There was a car there with no handicap plates or placard. We went to court, she pleaded no guilty and gave the judge the pictures. As he looked at them he smiled and showed them to the cop. He looked at the pictures and said " I don't remember that bush being there". The judge asked him,"so you think she planted it there?" The cop turned red and everyone laughed. @@guesswhomartin9249 I probably agree with some things but defund the police sounds like a dumb idea on face value. Unions in general are fine, we should have more people protected from getting let go for non-legitimate reasons. We need more punishment for people like cops though. They are given the benefit if the doubt in court because they are supposed to be held to a higher standard and treated as an independent party but that couldn't be further from the truth. They are allowed to lie in court, fake/tamper with evidence, make false claims, etc with rarely any punishment and they are incentivised to give people tickets. You cant claim a higher standard without being held responsible and you cant claim indepence if you get something out of it.

@@ians2777 ... 1st, thank you for your comment. But yes, defunding The police is a step in the right direction. To my know, 16 cities have already defunded the police and more cities and states are working on it. This is a very good step in the right direction. About Police officers lying in court: Police Officers are NOT allowed to lie in court. They're under Oath. This is how those police officers involved the Rodney King beating were all terminated and sent to prison. Especially right now, Police officers are all under a microscope. I refer to them as abandoned disabled parking spots . I used to build and lay out parking lots for a living . When a property owner would redesign buildings we would relocate spot and abandoned old ones . @Cipheiz it's funny how pavement markings on the road have to be followed, this includes turning lanes and no passing zones among other things, while driving at road speeds. Yet when you are driving slow they don't mean shit. I guess you don't have to park inside the lines either. Just park wherever you want, because you can't see the lines on the ground, and there is no signs indicating where they are. Unless he wasn't paying attention while parking perfectly between the lines, he should have noticed the markings on the ground saying it's an accessible spot. Law about signage or not, he wasn't paying attention while driving. He should have know accessible spots are near the front doors of a business, and in a lot that size there is more than one of these types of spots.
@northernsnow69822 жыл бұрын
@Cipheiz ok so I can drive wherever I want on the road, because the markers on the ground don't hold any legal powers. Especially in the winter which it is clearly not winter in this situation. I'll just drive on any side of the road, because there are no signs indicating lanes. Also when I park, I'm going to pull up to the front door with my truck parked sideways, because the markings on the ground aren't enforceable.
@northernsnow69822 жыл бұрын
@Cipheiz stfu about where I live. I ignored that part of your comment for a reason. But since you want to bring up were I live. Where I live the cops are trained common courtesy and park further away from businesses, I know this for a fact. As a result, I've never seen a cop car this close to a business, unless it was an emergency. So this would have never been an issue. I don't know where you live, but to excuse a cop for wrongdoing is appalling where I come from. And when they break the law, or just act irresponsible, they get reprimanded for it, because they aren't above the law. Enough lawsuits have been won against them that they are trained in order to save money, not just for common courtesy. This includes parking where they are supposed to. I'm glad I don't live where you do, and cops don't think that they are better than everyone else. And if I'm being silly about how you can park, because markings on the ground don't mean anything as a civilian, then this cop is more silly using it as an excuse for himself.
@northernsnow69822 жыл бұрын
@Cipheiz some laws require this, and others require that, and others require a different thing all together is a stupid way to operate. Edit: I'm glad where I live, any of the prior mentioned ways, that are visible, are legal ways to enforce the law. And it's not just willy-nilly depending on the situation, as that is too hard to enforce.

Tampatec here’s the thing. The ones on the ground don’t mean anything according to law. That’s why they have signs. They weren’t properly marked. This is because, such as in the case when a parking lot is redone, handicap spaces could be removed or moved to another spot, but businesses don’t really remove the spot, it’s just covered(sometimes not even that), but still clearly visible. Here you would be asked to move, if you don’t or try to fight it, then you’ll get a ticket(though this is to the officers discretion, in a case where the parking lot is more packed and close spaces are at a premium, you will likely get a ticket)

Lots of cities have ordinances requiring you to get permission from the cops to tow, they'd never do it to their vehicle.

Even without noticing the symbol on the ground, as a cop he should have known that the yellow area beside the car only exists to make room for wheelchairs. It is common knowledge that is what those are for, as stated in any driving handbook. His excuse is invalid. To make sure all officers understand the same thing, they should have training on the matter, at his expense and not the tax payers.

marking on the floor means nothing. without the sign, its just a regular parking space. this is how it works nationally as far as I know.

I think his excuse is worse than the violation. He didn’t know it was a handicap spot may work for a 16 yr old! But for a cop?🤦🏿♂️

What is it that a cop would say to someone else: ignorance is not a excuse. But I guess for cops, they have their own laws, meaning that they do as they please.

"I didn't know it was a handicapped spot." Gonna be fair, this actually proves that he was legally allowed to park there because he is, indeed, handicapped. On another note, oh dear lord in heaven, please protect us from our protectors.

You cannot see any sign in front of the vehicle and in most states a handicapped painting on the surface doesn't suffice denoting a handicapped spot because at times they are difficult to see. There is a reason why they have upright signs.
@buzzline15442 жыл бұрын
@CipheizHe still chose to park there, and it wasn't snowing. So he either knew about this technicality and decided to use it to take up a space a disabled person could use, in which case he's a liar, and an awful cunt. Or, he genuinely didn't see the giant sign on the ground, in which case there is a partially blind person behind the wheel, with a gun.

Officer claims he "didn't know the space was 'Handicapped". Any cop will tell you that ignorance of the law is no excuse. Try telling a cop that you "didn't know" that the space you parked in was reserved for handicapped drivers.

Discipline? Hell, Give him a huge ticket like HE would give anyone else that he caught committing the same offense ! "Didn't realize it" is a bullshit excuse as that entire area is well marked and painted. Another point against him for trying to lie his way out of it. A cop knows damned well areas near the doors are usually reserved for the handicapped. The cop simply had no real excuse for doing that. I wonder how he was "disciplined"
