Gage Ave. The Johnny Gage character on Emergency was named after the street.
@emt53305 жыл бұрын
He was named after James O Page. He was main supporter of the paramedic program. When it became known that they wanted to name the character John Page, the LACoFD said no way. So John Page became John Gage. DeSoto was named after a street though.

So why do the fire trucks have ambulance sirens and the last ambulance has a fire truck siren?!
@FB1ResponseVideos7 жыл бұрын
there’s no such thing as a “fire truck siren” and an “ambulance siren” but to answer your question, the one on the ambulance is an electronic Q or “fire truck siren”. and some of LAFD’s older fleet don’t have Q’s on them
@MIKECNW6 жыл бұрын
For years I sort of thought police and fire sirens have the same sound and fire engines sounded different. I live in Park Ridge Il. a Chicago suburb and it was like that there, same with Chicago and other suburbs. For a period of time the CFD began to use sirens for their trucks as Dirk explains it. Now they're back to the old sound and the ambulances sound like the fire engines sirens.
@jimfitz14325 жыл бұрын
Everyone wants to be different or have a unique sound. LAFD gets every penny out of their sirens. As they re-cycle the old federal electronic sirens from old rigs to newer rigs. Also those mechanical sirens draw a huge amount of amperage on the electrical system. Then throw in new sirens and different technology and you’ll get a hodge podge of fire trucks sounding like ambulances and ambulances sounding like fire trucks. The old mechanical Q2B are very expensive when compared to any electronic siren. Even though the ambulances sound like a fire truck. That’s the electronic siren trying to replicate the sound of a mechanical siren. If you also look close you’ll almost never see a mechanical Q2B on a ambulance or commercial built vehicle like a suburban or pick up truck. It just draws too much power. Well if I’ve done my job I’ve thoroughly confused you.
