I love when you buy this album it's the live version, because I love hearing the pedal and the soft lift of his hands off the keys, I'm a sucker for live acoustic performances so this is perfect. Thank you Olafur Arnalds for coming into this world and gifting us with the pleasure of listening to your beautiful creations!

As soon as he mentioned his grandmother, that was it. I was sobbing too-my mother passed away at the end of November, and this just got to me. What a sensitive, beautiful guy Arnalds is.If we had more like him in the world, it would sure be a much better place.

For the song about his grandmother, I thought the slow pan the camera made to reveal all the string players was brilliant. It caught me completely off-guard, and it made the song so much more emotionally impactful. I'm not at all ashamed to say that I teared up a little bit. Given Olafur's motivation for the song, I thought it was so sweet to suddenly have a whole room full of people playing along with him. It's one of the most powerful songs I've ever heard/seen.

I love how my favorite song by him (which leaves me breathless every time I hear it, I swear) was written in an hour at the last minute. And he wasn't even sure about it. I am so glad he decided to go with it instead of something else!!

What I think he meant is that the song's resolutions are the most positive. In the end, the song ends on the most major note, showing that the tensions involved were released. The piece is very emotional, yes, but we are assured that freedom will come.

Tomorrow's Song, Near LIght, and Lag Fyrrir ömmu get a lot of love as they deserve to be, but for me the highlight on the album is Ágúst; such an incredible melancholic yet hopeful piece. That said, hearing Lag Fyrir Ömmu played live at the end of his concert with him alone on stage and the string players softly playing backstage was one of the highlights of my concert-going life.

plot twist On this one This place is a shelter is my personal favorite. He said the song originally wasn't supposed to be this way, He had to rewrite it, it was written before his first album but when the day came to record he couldn't find a second violinist. I was saying that the song that had to be rewritten in less than an hour is ironically my favorite.

i absolutely agree with you. This is a fact ,there are moments in our life that we create something beautiful without the intention to do it. I had some experience of it because i write abstract poems, so when you try to write something the result is not so good as when you have an inspiring moment. You don't have to try to..... that's a general law in arts, i think. Also, this place is a shelter and hand's be still are my favorites songs. Check this one Torn - Nathan Lanier Have a nice day
