Don't totally condemn the action of the security men. There are those who will come to such locations to shoot commercial film and documentary without management permission, and at that point you need permission, which is essential factor in 'recce' for film/broadcast production; unlike using your phone to capture your personal sweet memory of the place. He didn't say you can't video, but assumed you're doing the former. You have to get his message. You could have as well easily created a rapport and PR with the staff and get some vital information from them through interview. That's professionalism! There are places in the West and Asia with beautiful facilities that you will still need some measure of permission to capture the premises with a video camera. They also need to know your intention for the coverage as you're forced to tell them in an unpleasant manner that could have been prevented. Well done for the good coverage of Lagos waterways transport system.

@@attoeattoe2058 There's nothing to think about it. Every country have a place you can't go in with a camera but you can go in with your phone. Camera is seen as creating public content. Take for instant if everyone that has been to that place had refused to turn off their camera like he argued it, that same place would have been on every content creator page which would make it have less value for viewers like you cos you probably have seen the same place everywhere over and over. Lastly i see is argument as gaslighting and manipulation, he claims he is shooting a private content whereas it is not, because his youtube is monetize and he would get paid for making that video which is exactly why camera isn't allowed. I hope this make you and the owner of the page know he can't ever try that even in east Africa he claim to have been severally.

Yo bros, it's good to know what the constitution says about your freedom in public places, good job for standing your ground, the funniest thing is the security guys have no knowledge of constitutional rights in public places.

Giringori Obi and his Obidiots are shouting now about Lagos-Calabar road. In few years to this time you people would be praising the government for making it happen as they were bad mouthing Tinubu when he was conceptualising these ideas of LAMATA.

Obi did not said the project is not good, but with the level of uncompleted projects in Nigeria, this will add to them, because this government will not even going to complete it and mind you this road project was planned by Tawfawa Belewa regime and not Tinubu and if you are a Nigerian you will see that there's many federal and states roads in Nigeria that is deaths trapped. Any meaningful government will put more efforts to fix all the existing projects before starting new one.

This is one thing that upsets me about Lagos and Nigeria in general. Everywhere you go you will meet someone with the most minor of roles fronting like an authority and they will challenge you. The reason why they do that is to intimidate you to prepare you for EXTORTION. So when you meet Nigerians anywhere in Europe, UK or America and you notice how rugged we are...now you see why. Right from when we were little playing football in a school field on a weekend or when the school is closed...there MUST be one baba telling you "ki lo mu wa" "what have you brought for me" It is the reason why something as little as a ferry terminal is treated like the source of a transaction. Obviously the security guys were on Camera that is why they couldn't solicit. The multimodal intertransport station (bus, ferry and train) of the village I lived in Poland is more advanced than this... yet nobody disturbs private activities like filming. When I think of the stress and behaviours back home, its no wonder why I havent bothered to return back after 18 yrs. MTCHEWWW.

I welcome your actions against the security officers on site. I faced similar situation around January that I visited Lagos and Abuja. This is why foreigners think Nigeria is underdeveloped bcos they don't allow foreign youtubers to film some beautiful parts of Nigeria.

The reason they don't allow filming is because there's corruption going on in those places, and they are afraid the shady deals may be caught on camera.

Kenneth you are doing that because you are in Nigeria as a Nigerian, you know the rules when it comes to filming as a KZbinr been that u have been to so many countries, you are presenting a bad image, you should have ask for a permission first just like when you are in Nairobi, not every where you go that you can just start filming without a permission for security reasons, next time try to calm down just to diffuse the situation.

Title of this vid is "Lagos Nigeria is on Another Level". Clearly, that includes "you cannot film here" cos "this place is someone's property". That "someone" it emerged was Lagos State govt! Truly, Nigeria is on another level than everywhere else; it is where public properties belong to "someone"🤣

I consistently emphasize that as Nigerians, we often contribute to our challenges, not solely the government. In your video at the Lagos boat station you were informed that camera usage was prohibited. Instead of complying, you arrogantly challenged the uniformed official to justify the restriction, even persisting in your argument when senior officials intervened. Having traveled extensively, I've encountered similar situations in various countries. Whether through posted signs or verbal instructions from officials, filming restrictions are common. For instance, filming is prohibited at airports in Dubai, and in London, I was advised by police to cease filming at Westminster while shooting a music video. In Europe, the US, Asia, and elsewhere, compliance with such directives is typically straightforward. Yet, in this instance, you chose to contest the instruction. Let's prioritize adherence to simple rules and refrain from the Nigerian tendency towards arrogance, as it contributes to our collective challenges.

I think I would like to disagree with you on this. The security man is right. The instructions given to them was to stop people filming for commercial purposes using cameras like your type. Such people need to take permission and also , perhaps pay some sort of money to use the facility like movie shooters. So, the where just doing their Job. Please don't let me call you an illiterate 😂

And he could have also cut out that part or edited it out. Its not everything you put on camera. He has a world wide audience and its not everything that should be on camera, he could have just commented about it in the course of the video.
