Police engage kidnappers in shootout in Lagos
The police in Lagos have confirmed that nine suspected kidnappers were killed on Thursday during a shootout. Lagos police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin said the police had been on the trail of the kidnappers after receiving intelligence about their activities. “The kidnappers who were caught unawares would not give up easily as they engaged the police officers in a shoot-out,” Mr Hundeyin, a superintendent of police said. “They, of course, bowed to the superior firepower of the police. Nine of them were neutralised while two escaped with gunshot injuries.”

@@smart7278 try and appreciate the work of the Nigerian Police to maintain peace within the community rather than talking about the tribe of the victims. Stop discrimination and allow the police to do their work. At least appreciate the fact that its long ago we've seen such a wonderful performance from our Nigerian police. How I wish you stay around the vicinity of the scene you would really know that it was a big battle between the policeman and the thieves. Shooting of gun for about 30 minutes and the thieves were neutralized without hurting any resident staying within the community. Kudos and double promotion to the gallant officers.

Evans the kidnapper should count himself lucky. The time he started Kidnapping in Lagos the Police were not well organized as at that time compared to the now. So he had so many lucky days. The Evans Network only got the police attention when they spoil their operations themselves. When he was tried he was not sentenced to death. So the 9 killed kidnappers thought they could replicate the Evans method again but they were wrong. The Police were ready for them.
