the lagrangian method is often introduced in intermediate microeconomics. it's a very math heavy method, but incredibly useful. this video walks through the lagrange method in general.

So if there is a minimization problem do we use f'(x) minus g'(x)=0 Whilst maximization problem do we use f'(x) plus g'(x)=0? f'(x) being the derivation of objection function, whilst g'(x) being the constraint function? i.e. maximize problems for maximizing profit, minimize problems for minimizing cost.
