Nature - Wild Life - Insect Life - The name hirta comes from the Latin hirtus meaning rough hair or rough wool. Lagria Hirta is presdent in Europe, Russia, North Africa, Israel, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Paraguay, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Can be found in open woods, in deciduous forests, in forest clearings, forest edges, in grasslands, wet meadows, dry valleys and wet areas. Lagria hirta have a length of 7-8 millimetres. The adult beetles feed on nectar and pollen and can be seen from May to September.
